Next Generation Sonic-Screenies and video Ahoy

Here are a few screenies and videos from the new sonic the hedgehog game for PS3 and xbox 360.

I haven't really been impressed with the latest sonic games. Heroes was awful, the voice acting was like nails on a chopboard, and it was phenominally repetitive. Quite like sonic adventure 2:Battle. Though the diamond levels and other gimmicks that were included sucked quite abit.

Will it be any good? Or just spangly on the outside with un-enjoyable gameplay?

That remains to be seen.

To be honest, Sonic games haven't really been that good since Sonic 3 & Knuckles. Sonic Chaos was good, though, and so was Sonic Adventure 2 Battle. But apart from that, he's lost his knack.

Since this is a Sonic topic, did anyone here read the Sonic The Comics?

It looks very pretty, and the in-game videos make it look like it could be fun, but I'm pretty wary after the other 3D Sonic efforts. I'm just not sure if the gameplay of classic Sonic can work in a 3D world, but I really want to be surprised.

I have SA2 for Dreamcast and actually quite enjoy the Sonic levels, shallow as they may be, but having to be Tails (in a bloody mech, shooting at stuff, what the hell?) and Knuckles searching for stuff while listening to the worst rap songs ever recorded made the game pretty unplayable for me. I still play the 2 player race mode (Sonic vs. Shadow) and that's always a laugh, even though it basically amounts to just holding forward on the stick and watching.

You forgot S&K. And what about Sonic CD? The music on that was *quite* perfick.

yeah i have to agree whith redux
i don't like 3-d adventure games that much
...to look forward you need to sacrifice looking backwards and in the process something behind you kills you.
other than that issue that sonic looks cool

Wow that looks so cool (graphically). The physics behind those walls being smashed!! :love:
I hope they fixed those crazy camera angles. I have Sonic Adventure 1+2 for the Dreamcast and the camera views let them down. Also the voices just made you cringe and you couldnt skip the talky sequences.

Cant wait for PS3. Not too sure if i would get the sonic game, i would have to play it first.
