A while back THQ announced (http://www.thq.co.uk/pages/article?ArtIndex=365&NewsIndex=365;363;364;361;360;358;359;356;355;351; 35) a deal to publish various Majesco games in Europe, most notably Psychonauts, the critically acclaimed but financially disasterous platform adventure by Tim "Monkey Island" Shafer which nearly bankrupted Majesco and, until recently, didn't seem to have much chance of making it to Europe. Hooray for THQ, who apparently laugh in the face of bankruptcy. They haven't announced a date yet, but Double Fine (http://www.doublefine.com/) finished the European language versions about a month ago, and estimated an autumn release.
This is our chance to show that we European gamers are more discerning than our American counterparts by actually buying this game. We need to convince publishers that it's worth releasing and marketing more 'alternative' games over here, I've been rather pissed off about the games we've missed out on in the last couple of years. So buy it, damn you!
Fun Psychonauts fact I just learned: Erik from Old Man Murray (http://www.oldmanmurray.com), the best gaming humour site on the net, wrote some story and dialogue for Psychonauts. This is talent that needs rewarding, damnit!
