Right.

I know I've asked this before but I thought I'd give a new thread and breathe life into the idea.

The JFL was, in my opinion, a great success and was enjoyed by many. The 1st season was great, the 2nd was continuing and I was struck down by the dizzeh (http://www.weebls-stuff.com/forum/showthread.php?t=25699&highlight=accute), so it was unable to continue once I recovered as I had brain scans and Uni to catch up on.

But now I have decided to try and relaunch the good ol' JFL. But a few things stand in the way.

* We were in the middle of a season. Do we start again from scratch or carry on from where we were?
* Do we change the format sligtly for the better? Suggestions?
* Do we expand or keep it to a league only format?

Shoot. From the hip preferably.

I was winning. Lets carry on with the old season...

It would be nice to have real players in the game. Maybe you could have the 8 best teams in europe and we choose one of those teams.

It would be good to have 2 leagues so you coulg get promoted. The only thing is that it would take a long time...

As for the 2 leagues, I would love to do that if only I could manage to keep on top of all the goings ons. It was hard enough doing the one league. Maybe if the leagues were only 6/8 teams each, but that would make the seasons quite short.

I know it is pure fantasy but having real players allows you to put a face to the player you're buying. With the old format you just looked at their skill points and value then went by that.

It would be good to have Henry and Shevchenko up front instead of Joe Average and A N Other.

With regards to the leagues, there are only a small amount of people that frequent the sports and bets forums so finding 12 or 16 players may be difficult.

I prefer the made up players and teams, they made the JFl what it was rather than some guy playing a bunch of matches on CM. although at would be good to have more information to go on with players, whether actually in the game or made up by AP.

On the format I liked the league idea, it owuld be awesome if we could have a number of leagues, say for England, Italy and Spain, and have European competition between members, but probably not very practical. Same with having more than one tier to the league. :(

I don't think we should carry on from where we were in any case, a new game will be better. :)

i think we should start again as some of the old managers may not be available. as for the format, it worked well i think, i just had crap players :p

Definitely don't want real players in. If nothing else it will make streety, Shane and Jonny upset when they can't all have all the 'Pool players :p

But yeah - the real players thing isn't something that should go ahead, it makes it not the JFL any more.

And btw - *I* was winning :p

It makes no difference who was winning. I would have won anyhoo \o/

I say start again from scratch - I've just deleted all the stuff of my 'puter and can't for the life of me remember what my tactics and players were.

I've not so much deleted it, as got a different computer.

I would've won the league though. I was just biding my time. :ninja:

Some people ay...
I was clearly winning and I had just beaten the favourites for the euro cup madrid.

I am all for real players and real team names. After discussing it with AP there won't be any english teams to pick to stop people fighting over them.

Real players would be better IMO. English clubs wouldn't be a bad thing...just do it the same as always...first come, first served...eith that, or if there are multiples, pick names out of a hat. Easy peasy.

Right, counting from the posts that makes:

WLS 2
JFL 4

I have both programmes available to me and I have tweaked the JFL database so that the players will have different ratings and we won't know who the strongest teams are. So snapping up FC Mersey, London North or FC Reading won't guarentee you a great side.

I might open a polled thread asking about which would be preferred.

Poll = Good idea.

I just think that real players open a much more diverse gaming experience. I think it would be a good idea to only allow a certain amount of players from each team though.

Nothing wrong with fantasy players though. In ways it's better..but in other ways, it isn't...ack.

I concur with Doggy in that with real players, you may as well play CM or something.
