Theres a couple of links n stuff over on http://pspupdates.qj.net/2005/09/working-psp-firmware-20-to-150.html on how to downgrade your PSP from 2.0 to 1.5
As im not a PSP owner, I don't know why you'd want to downgrade properly, but there seems a buzz about this with psp users, so there ya go...
I believe its something to do with the 2.0 version being more restrictive with movies n stuff...

Yes, the downgrade gets rid of a lot of Digital Rights Managment restrictions and basically allows the PSP to be used for more purposes more easily.

Theres also a nice step by step guide with pictures over at hackaday (http://www.hackaday.com/entry/1234000687060851/) if you want a guide that is slightly more friendly to the eyes.

Though wouldn't some games only work with 2.0? Also, I hear you can use emulators only on 1.5.
and you are?

The best way to downgrade stuff is to hit it hard with a hammer. But you should never do that with a PSP.
Can't really say much about it as I still don't have a PSP...

Because these programs are completely illegal and those that use them immediately invalidate their warranties, I'm gonna avoid this.

Looks like sony are already trying to stop the downgrading with version 2.01. If you want to use all the hacks and other lovley things you can use with 1.5, then avoid sticking 2.01 on your PSP first otherwise you won't be able to downgrade.
Of course Sony wouldn't make things that easy, if you want to paly games lile GTA:LCS then most likley have to use 2.01 otherwise it wont work.

That's why they do it.
Metal Gear Acid requires at least v1.50 - so it wont be long until more developers put essential updates in perhaps for a gameplay reason, or they simply want to stop the piracy badboys and hence wont let the games be playable until the update has been downloaded. Makes sense really.
