Undeniable proof Microsoft is evil

It has been confirmed, Halo 3 will be coming out the same day as the PS3. The first image that came to mind was massive geek-battle between PS3'ers and Xbox'ers. Their delusional beliefs on non-fictional characters will only add to the humour of this scenario (Master Chief is gonna come over and kick your ass!) So, what do you think will happen?

it might make a small dent, but one thing they forgot to figure into the equation is this:

people who get Halo 3 will already have an XBox 360 (I advise against it, mind you - even just for H3); so a single game will cut into sales of a whole system only partially. It's simple math. One game does not cost as much as a whole system. So people who already own an XBox 360 but want both halo 3 and the PS3 will just have to spend a little more and make up for it later.

Those who really don't have money for both will just have to decide whether they want a single game (no matter how great it is, it's still just one), or a game console on which many games will be playable right from launch (I presume here that the Ps3 will be backwards compatible just like the PS2 was).

Gosh, that really is evil! Trying to compete with their market rivals? There needs to be extra levels added to hell to accomodate these rapscallions! And to think that Sony, a small but dedicated organisation that exists solely to selflessly bring us pleasure, would be so cruelly bullied by these corporate thugs. It just brings a tear to my eye :nana:

Incidentally, that Time interview was months ago. I think everyone else stopped reeling from this monstrous display of evil back in May. I, however, had to endure weeks of therapy to get over the whole thing, and you just brought all that pain flooding right back. I hope you're happy, T3-X.

I think the only way (and obviously it's not at all likely) that Microsoft could be so totally decimated in the console market would be if Sony and Ninty joined forces in some sort of marketing alliance (was going to say 'unholy' - but that term really only fits Microsoft). Or better yet - the Revolution and PS3 turned out to be the same system.

Backwards compatibility of all Nintendo and PS# games on a single console. Now that would rule.

Sega need to make a comeback. I was thinking that too; as an alternative to the less-likely Ninty-Sony collaboration.

Considering the "Console Wars" of the late 80's to mid 90's were all just N vs. Sega, it would make a truly odd pairing if that were the case. It's not like precedent hasn't been set though; even Sega's own former mascot has shown up on a Nintendo system or two...

That would really suck if they did, but as PS3 might not be out in the west until Q4 2006 I think they might manage it.

I think Bungie has taken far too much pride in the Halo trilogy to just crap out the next one. It's going to be well over a year, and, if my memory serves correct, they started almost immediately after Halo 2 was finished.

Im rooting for PS3 all the way, In my opinion you just cant beat sony, the XBOX's are still to big for my liking (sure you can argue but I have my views and not much changes that). The nerd fight that TX-3 explained would be fun, if not a little un-nerving (too many acne ridden retainer wearing people for my liking) but im going for the PS3.

I'll give MS credit for Windows - being that it's a rather good OS: exception is Linux.
However, when they're doing that you really can't help but see that they're evil.
I think M*******t should be a swear word cos of what they've done - it really is that low to release a massive game on a new console's launch.

I purchased the Xbox for Halo alone, I followed Halo from thier first E3 movie release (when they showed it for the PC) and I was quite pissed the Microsoft brought out Bungie and made it the flagship title. Once I plug in the Xbox and started playing Halo, it was worth the wait.
I love my Xbox (I have two), and would not change it for a PS2 or PS3, but I will wait a bit until I see what further games come out for the 360. At this point in time I am not to impressed with the game titles right now. By the time the PS3 comes out, hopefully they will drop the price a bit (and of course release Halo 3).
The systems may be powerfull (and I only understand half the tech talk) but it does come down to the software, and of course interesting games. I do like a FPS, but they are getting a bit long in the tooth IMO.
