Okay, the idea behind this thread is kinda similar to the various First Single You Bought threads there have been, but hopefully different enough to be interesting.

What's the oldest album (or single, if you like) you own that you still listen to? It can either be the one you've had for longest, or simply one you've got recently but was released before all your other CDs.

The album I have owned for longest and still listen to is Talk on Corners by The Corrs. I have no doubt that someone here has something much older :)

*crosses fingers and hopes thread works*

Oh...erm... do you mean in terms of release date of the actual album or when you bought it i.e. your first album you bought?

Release date: Beatles- The White Album
Earliest in my collection that I bought: See above

If my question is unclear, just ignore it

In terms of when you bought it was what I had in mind when I got the idea, though release date is good too. Guess I never explained that well in my first post :)

First CD I ever got. In terms of album release date, the earliest album I have is Meddle by Pink Floyd (1971).

order of purchase: I Mother Earth - Scenery and Fish ('96)

At least I think so. The few CDs I had purchased prior to 10 years ago have been sold/traded.

That's very embarrassing and all (not that I never owned an Aqua CD :ninja: ), but the point is what's oldest CD that you still listen to. If you don't listen to Aqua anymore, which you don't, by the sounds of it, then it doesn't count.

Oldest release date- The Clash, London Calling

Oldest I made purchase of- (probally) No Doubt- Tragic Kingdom, though I don't listen to it much now, there's a big scratch, so it's half a cd.

One of those *shudders* Now Whatever ones.

I however, don't listen to it, so that'll make it something like the first Gorillaz album.

I've got older records though - the oldest of which is (I think) a scratched Beatles album...

Oldest in terms of release date, i'm a music philistine, so probably some disco stuff.

Oldest CD would be The Beatles Please Please Me released in 1963.

The CD that I've owned the longest would be (again) The Beatles Rubber Soul Which I've had since I was about 9 or 10, which would make it 11 or 12 years old.

I think the first CD I went and bought for myself was Dark Side of the Moon, by Pink Floyd, and I got that about 2 years ago.

As for oldest CD, that's tough to call. Dark Side is from 73. I also have Ziggy Stardust by David Bowie and Thick as a Brick by Jethro Tull, both from 72 (I think, they're all digitally remastered versions so it doesn't say the original release date anywhere). I also have a Hendrix greatest hits. That CD is recent, however it has songs going back to the early 60's.
