On 9 October 2005 John Lennon will be 64 years old.

A special art gallery in Soho, New York is holding, for 4 days, drawings of Lennon's including signed pieces.

Do any of you older forumites here have any memories you'd like to share?

There was a gallery tour about six or seven years ago, where some of his art went around the world. I saw it when it was here in Toronto, and I have to say it's worth going for. He's got some neat little cartoons. Man, I tell you... If I wasn't so broke all the time...

Sorry. Some (albeit who have a tenous grip on reality) say he faked his own death, just like Elvis and Jim Morrison and the guy from Lynyrd Skynyrd, and Buddy Holly... In fact, maybe they're all living together in an Old Folks home in Florida.

Except B.H. He'd be long dead of natural causes anyway...

I went to the Imagine part of Central Park when I was in NY a few years ago, they had just cleared away all the stuff people had left but I took a pic anyway. I shall go root through my photo albums to try and find it....

This was before I had a digital camera.

I can't believe it took me so long to figure out why 64 was significant.

I'm getting old.

I'm guessing no-one will still meet or greet him, then.

haha Cynic. "When I'm 64". Unless that is a McCartney solo composition...

Sorry for that grammatical error. I was unaware of the thing where people thought he faked his death. However, I'm pretty sure that he was fatally shot by one who shall remain unnamed. ¬_¬

Scary though with that picture you find on the internet from one of the movies with him behind a newspaper stand with the sign "The best way to go is by M & D Co." M.D.C. eek.

@Tweekish: That'd be great to see. I never heard of that before.

I'd really like to see that gallery up in Soho, but I don't know if my family would take the time on the weekend to go. :( I'd absolutely love to see it. Only a couple more days left. I think the idea is that it ends on the 9th, his birthday.

Edit: Oh BTW the gallery is called "Come Together".

John Lennon was born October 9th, 1940. Therefore he would have turned 64 last year... this Sunday, he would have been 65.

All the newschannels said 64.

Sorry for the double post and the bump, but I'd also like to add that

Today would be John Lennon's birthday.

Happy birthday to ya.
