Just went to see their gig last night and apart from my bowels being in an unsavoury condition and feeling on several occasions that I was going to pass out, I thought it was very good. Despite the female singer sounding like she had inhaled an enormous amount of helium before the concert I thought it was very clear and good music, certainly something worth going to. This gig was supported by The Rifles who sounded quite good and Absent Kid, who are absolutely brilliant. I can hardly claim such a view to be impartial as I know the guitarist, but I can claim it to be shared as they are pretty much on their way, got hand picked by The Subways and were awarded best unsigned band award by NME a while ago.
My questions for the wonderful fellows of the lands of orange are two. Has anyone caught The Subways around their tour (or will soon) and has anyone seen Absent Kid? Im intrigued to know if anyone has heard of them.

Saw them in April, just how hot is the bassist?
A conversation the month before went as follows:
*sitting in Subway*
"This sandwich is really good"
"You know there's a band called the Subways? They're coming to Aberdeen."
"NO WAY. We HAVE to see them."
We did, and have loved them ever since.
A very strange band, their average age is 18, and are made up of a girl, her boyfriend and his brother on drums. The drummer looks like more of a Megadeath fan. I hate to say it, but you should prepare for the biggest falling out in history.
Seeing them at Moshulu in Aberdeen on the 20th. Yey!

You learn something new every day. You are at college then presumably?
Absent kid played with my freind's band Pattern Against User a while back so I saw them then. I reccomend PAU more though. Yes please.

I was at college but I'm taking a year out before university at the moment. Never heard of PAU, I'll have to look into them.

I saw The Subways at astoria last wednesday, it was so good... I love them and clock is such a good song, they rarely play it at a gig, and the bassist is hot.
Unfortunatlly the forum is sold out, i was hopeing to get tickets.

In this weeks NME you can see me in the picture of astoria... Well the back on my head and my arm sticking out. It was whilst Billy was crowd surfing, you can also see a few of my friends... It was such a good gig.
... There still one of my favorite bands.

Mary is my best friend
She makes me my tea
She let's me stay around her place
When there's nowhere else to be
There's nothing in her bedroom
Just a bed and a TV
And it's okay for men aware
Just sit and drink my tea Worlds shitest lyrics.
I find myself repeating myself on this forum.

I second that. By the way, the bassist and leader singer are actually engaged. awwww, aint it cute?
I saw them at Reading, their live performance is pretty good. Better than MCR's evening set which was pretty bad, i missed the beginning of QOTSA - during which they played the hangin' tree (which is like, their best frickin song) to see that.
It's true though, the bassist is well fit. *thumbsup*
