Ok, this thread isnt that great but i need to know some experiences and opinions.
A mate of mine ordered me and him some tickets to go see a band at Leeds Uni. I have paid him my money.
But ive just checked now and the gig is over 16s only, and i am not over 16, i am 14, but i can pass for older, i just dont have ID. Another gig at another venue isnt over 16s only.
So do you think i will not be allowed in? or its just some guidline, and the people taking our tickets wont care.
Or shall i just beat him till i get my money AND my ticket, and sell it on ebay?
edit, the band arent that big, they are called The Cribs, and i paid £9 to go see them.
They couldnt half fill Bradford St georges hall when it was full last friday, so it wont be THAT big.
That's a tough one, most gig places (depending on how big the venue is and the popularity of the band) are usually quite tight on issues such as that, but if its fairly small you can probably pass quite easily. Good luck!

on the off chance that they do actually check your ID theres always the magic of forgery.

They will check for ID mate, whether or not you look like 16, some of my mates looked 18 but were ID'd, so chances they will ID you too

erm, Id imagine they probably will ID you since most likely there will be much alcoholage there and theres probably a good reason for it being 16's and over
if I were you id get your £9 back off your friend

I've been going to over 16 gigs since I was 13 and ot in fine. No ID or nothing.
I've never been to a Uni though, normal venues so you might. I'd say go for it. S'only £9 and if you don't get in, you could always sell your ticket that night to someone who hasn't got one.

If it's a uni, chances are they'll ID you. So either get your money back or sell the ticket to someone else.

I got into an Alkaline Trio gig with plenty of alcohol and stuff and I was only 13. You'll probably be OK.

Good thing too. Most places only accept a driving licence or passport.
Find someone who looks kinda like you, but is older and see if you can borrow their id.
It does that in Leeds, it smells. I was allowed into an over 16 though, and I look about as young as a picture of Oli compressed to half its size.
If you take a responsible adult (ha) you may be able to get in. You could maybe get a friend and dress in a huge coat, you standing on your friends shoulders with a 'tache drawn on and talk in a deep voice. You'll get in easy that way.
