There was a thread like it, but I can't see it on the front page of music....
Anyways, I am going to see Foo Fighters supported by Supergrass and Millionaire on December 18th (?)at Earl's Court (?) I think.
Hopefully also seeing British Sea Power supported 70's supergroup THE WURZELS in London in November.
Oh, and of course, my very very very kind friend has paid for me to go to NOISE AND CONFUSION FESTIVAL at the Millenium Stadium in Cardiff.
With such acts as Foo Foghters, Futureheads, Oasis, Razorlight and The Coral.
Ho yes.
ohhh thats so unfair i missed getting a ticket for that :(

If you haven't been to Ally Pally before, make sure you get there in plenty of time. I missed the support even though I left an hour earlier than I usually would for going into London.
And also make sure you leave the same way you came in.
I ended up in Muswell Hill once.
I'm not sure, apart from "North London", where exactly Muswell Hill is.

I think my next gig is Bob Dylan at the Brixton Acadamy. It's either that or like....if I Can afford it anyway, it's Rawganics, which I think will have Rahzel next time it comes round.

yesterday i went to portsmouth for the best gig of my life. it was the good to go tour which featured:
the aquabats (rocked so much)
Never heard of it (where the best band there they crowd surfing and everything)
sonic boom six (which sounded like micky mouse on crack)
Not advised (also rocked)
FLOGGING MOLLY - 01/11/2005 - Not sure about that one though, i might go :\

I just moved to Bristol and all I hear (well not ALL I hear) is ex students reminiscing abut their student days spent going to 'Ramshackle' followed by the 'Hunger Hatch'... however I know not what these words mean!!?

I'm seeing Mastadon on the 1st of december, i've only heard blood and gold, is any of their other stuff good?

28-10-2005, 01:42 PM
Well Ramshackle is the main indie (well I'll say independant cos they don't just play "indie" music, if you get my drift?) club night, Friday night at the Carling Academy. But Hunger Hatch...pfft I have no idea but try asking someone older, at a mere 15 I'm not very well versed in Bristol's club/gig venues...yet :)
Nine Black Alps is tonight, and I got the ticket just in time!

I hear they are REALLY REALLY strict on photography. Which sucks somewhat, as from the pictures i have seen, it looks very nice.

Holy fuck, that gig was amazing. So was the after-show party. There were not being strict on photography, loads of people had their phones out. I don't have a camera phone and I wasn't risking camera confiscation, so I have no photos.
The gig was just performed more or less like a "standard" band, with all the musicians on-stage playing the songs. Certain songs such as November Has Come and Fire Coming Out of a Monkey's Head had the vocal pre-recorded with accompanying visuals. It was bloody good though.
I am proud to say that I was dancing like Noodle to DARE. On that note, Shaun Ryder was great! as were Roots Manuva, Martina Topley Bird, De La Soul, Bootie Brown and Ike Turner. It was just a supremely awesome gig.

Shaun Ryder was great!
hmph. i went to a complete stone roses show the other week in a dank converted dock type thing in leeds & he was meant to do a britpop dj slot afterwards but never bothered to turn up. looks like hes having too much fun with the glitz & the glam. grudge time. :zoidberg:
mind you, in the half light the big guy who was on the decks could probably have passed for him.

I had a ticket to Taste of Chaos this coming Saturday but then found out that one of my bests is celebrating her birthday that night and I couldn't not go. Oh well a nice profit on Ebay means my night out is paid for instead!!
I have Armour For Sleep on the 10th Dec and Stretch Armstrong 13th Jan. Swindon are getting some well good bands recently. Juat a few weeks ago we had No Comply!!
i should be going to go see zebrahead in november.
Zebrahead are at the Furnace in Swindon on the 19th Nov. It's a wee venue and normally has a good crowd. Theres no 'BACKSTAGE' area either so you usually get to chat to the bands a bit.

Bollocksed up me days booked off so now I can't go to see The Prodigy at Brixton Academy, which I'm thoroughly pissed off about.

have the rakes ever said why theyre called the rakes?
i always imagine that it involved absolutely no thought at all & that if theyd had their first band meeting in the kitchen instead of the shed theyd be called the ladles or something.
out of all the 'the thes' bands it always seemed a particularly bad name
