I searched found nothing.

Ok we all have career aspirations. Some want to be a lawyer, or a dentist or a doctor. Some might be looking for a job as a porn star *stares at redux*. We all have or at least had dreams of becoming something different to what you are now.
What do you want to be later in life? or if you remember what did you used to want to be?
Personaly i want to go in to the animation side of art. I love to animate. I make little flip cartoons in notepads, i make Short animations in Flash. I think of storylines and characters all the time. Even when talking to someone.
It is my dream to work for Disney Pixar and work on big movies.
I want this badly and i will go to any means necessary to get good at animating. (right now im about average.)
If anyone who is good at animating, could give me tips on how to improve and how to get into this job then it will be greatly appreciated.

So, how about you?

in a year i shall have professional qualification to be a librarian just about anywhere i want to go; as i quite like the idea of being able to help people find information that they need or even better don't realize they need, and to expand my own ability so that even if i may never know *everything* i'll at least know *where to find* most of it.

my eventual goal is the slightly-out-of-reach sphere of european university librarianship; for which i will also need extensive academic background in an appropriate subject - medieval history for instance (up to and possibly beyond masters level) - and near-fluency in a non-english european language. to do that i'd have to work in the system for a while before returning to school to do that masters (and additional language studies), maybe even a phd. by that point i'll be sure to have mad organizational and information-seeking skills, though, so i'd be well-prepared.

I would like to be a professional musician and/or producer. Likelyhood is that'll never come to fruition and I'll have to do something else instead. Oh well. As long as I make enough money to live, I'm not hugely bothered at this stage.

my main aspiration atm is to be in a band and get a few albums out. i'm don't really care if i don't get famous, all i want is a little circle of devoted fans who appreciate us for who we are, not what people are trying to make us.

i'll hopefully be able to do this in uni.

i also want to become leet at parkour, but the problem is finding the time and place to practise with my pk group and also to finish off the movie we're making called "jump around: parkour, pisstake and crap" which is basically us being tards

I remember being asked this question when i was about 7 at a holiday camp by a bald man and a green dinosaur.

My answer was- A Power Ranger.

Now of course, i'm not sure. Maybe something involving television. Not reality tv though. No, anything but that. *shudder*

Or maybe direct adverts and music videos or something.

Christ, i'm still as ridiculously over-ambitious as i was when i was 7 afterall..

I was aiming to be a journalist, preferably interviewer type, with maybe reviews and hopefully an Opinions Column a la Robert Crampton, but I'm getting increasingly dispassionate about the whole thing.

I'm starting to think about being a professional function photographer or something, as it's something I like doing, and while it's expensive as you like, it's not too difficult to do I don't think, because there's almost always work for you and as long as you have something to fall back on you can go freelance.

Other than that? not sure really. A writer maybe. It'd be rather good to be a writer though.

Professional sperm donor, then they changed the rules :(

But really, I'm already well on the way to my career dreams. I've got just under two years left of my PhD. Once I finish that I'll have just about enough experience in a number of different techniques which means that I'll be able to get a decent postdoc position, hopefully in new Zealand (but don't tell the missus that.) Once I've got a few years of that under the old belt, I shall become a lecturer and then grow old on an academic's salary, raise loads of pretenious kiddies and then have an affair with one of my PhD students. I think thats a good enough dream, don't you?

I always wanted to make cartoons.

Ever since I was little and made shite comics all day.

I'm an animator, but only on the internet.
And noone cares anyway. :-/
Which is why I work in a fucking department store which has been (and still is) one of the worst experiences of my life.

I wanted to be the lead trumpet of the LPO. (Still wouldn't mind)
I now want to be a chemical engineer, hence the course I am doing at uni.

It's only because I will get to play around with silly machines and earn lots of money, but isn't that what everyone wants out of life?

I wanted to be an model but no good looks, so instead I went down the actor route. I got some qualifications for it from Trinity College but I'm self conscious about my voice now, but I would still like to be an actor.

However, now my dream job is writing (and sorta directing) :D

One day, when I have my A-Levels out of the way and hopefully am in University, I'd like to form an unique, influential band.
Otherwise I'd like to work in a record shop, be a teacher of guitar, or build sites for peoples.
If not that then I'd love to work making comics. I'm no good at animating unless someone with great perseverance helps me along the way. I draw lots of comics, I'm not a good writer though really, and that's probably why you won't be reading this as I am so drab and awful.

I have always wanted to teach then go into politics.

When I was younger I always said I would be Prime Minister... but as i've gotten older I've mellowed and realised that a) the party i would want to represent might not come into power and b) I'd be happy to settle with just being MP lol.

Hands up who wanted to be a mermaid!

i guess i kind of settled. for a rather boring career, no less.

i wasn't a very ambitous child though. and i had a rather strange set of goals. no astronaut or fireman type things; i was convinced i was going to be a lawyer. mainly 'cuz i thought my dad's suits looked really neat, and i figured that was who you had to be to wear one of them - since he was a lawyer.

I recall that when I was younger I wanted to be an archaeologist, a teacher, and an author, all at the same time! Everything sounded so interesting; I wanted to do a bit of each.

Now, I would probably say I'd like to be a programmer (possibly games, but not necessarily), because that's one of my biggest hobbies. However, sometimes computers seem boring and pointless. I don't want to get into a job and after a while feel it's completely unfulfilling. I want to do something worthwhile. On the other hand though, I usually find computers really interesting, and so to have a job programming them could be great fun. It just depends what mood I'm in.

The idea of being a teacher does sound interesting, but although I may understand a given topic, I'm not always good at explaining it to people, so I probably wouldn't make a good teacher.

I want to be successful and happy with a career that i can change to my needs. I want a job where i am greatly respected and so that in the future when i want to have children i will still be able to work in that career, even if part time.
I'm 17 and in a brilliant position already; Office junior in market research and i'm making great progress, hopefully soon i will be able to put everything i have been taught into practice!

When I was little I wanted to be a Chef, Surfer and Karate Instructor (simultaneously, of course), whilst during high school I was determined to be the guitarist in a successful band. However my lack of ability in any of the above professions has resulted in me abandoning my childhood aspirations and applying for a degree in civil engineering.

I want to be a history teacher, though I only have wanted to do that for just over a year. As a kid I used to want to be a chef, or how I put it, a cooker. Then it was a journalist, but it didnt interest me when it came to it. History teacher will allow me to do something in areas I like while imposing my superior intelligence on others day in day out :D

When I was young, I dreamed of being a professional football player, as you do. I'd still be happy with that, but I'm pretty much resigned to it not happening.

Now, I'm torn between two equally good and interesting professions. A network admin, or a geneticist. And I have to make up my mind soon, as I have to have made up my mind what uni course I want to do by Dec 19th. Its such a tough decision, I think there's more money in being a network admin, but I get the feeling that a geneticist would be 100 times more interesting. So I've got no idea what I want to be really.

When I was little I wanted to be a ninja (up until the age of 5)
Then wanted to become a scientist. It became apparent that I wasn't going to be persuing the scientific role I wanted after I got bored with Boyle's Law and chemical formulas for respiration very early on. (I have the attention span of a gnat unless something interests me, and then in which case I'll almost become obsessive in knowing as much as possible about said subject)

Since I was about 11, I've wanted to own my own company but not in the UK. I discovered I have an aptitude for the hardware side of computing so am currently exploring various avenues along this route until I have a clear plan and the relevant skills to become proficient enough to charge for my time and expertise.

When I was 3 I had dreams of being an individual who worked in the diamond industry! By age 7, I wanted to be a diamond dealer who bought and sold diamonds. By age 10 I wanted to be a diamond jewler.

When age 16 came around I really really wanted to be a diamond cutter, "wow" I said, I could shape the earths hardest material with my own two hands!! Oh the power!

However that dream faded away at age 20 when I started to think about being a Diamond Sorter! Then that thinking turned into planning, and that planning turned into actions, and those actions turned out into me becoming a Diamond Sorter for about a year now! Woo for me!

Now I dream about becoming a fire truck when I grow up.

Ah. That’s exactly what I want to be. But I doubt its the kind of thing you could make a decent living off. So meh, ill most likely end up with some boring 9-5 web /graphic design job.

I'd like to run my on business and work for myself, but I have too little motivation and would call myself to say I was sick and couldn’t come into work to often.

Most bands signed to small labels make very very little money, let alone unsigned. You're unsigned because you want to be signed, ultimately.

Personally I would like to be in a band which isn't incredibly famous (because I doubt I'd be able to take it) but is well known amongst almost a cult group of fans. So a band like (in terms of fame and popularity) Sigur Ros, as opposed to a band like Coldplay. If you get me.

When I was in elementary and middle school I wanted to be a doctor. In high school I realized I didn't much care for biology, so I decided I wanted to be a civil rights lawyer. In college I realized I didn't like the other people who said they wanted to go to law school so I decided I wanted to be a politician*. When I worked on campaigns I realized that it sucks to be the candidate, the real fun is behind the scenes. So I decided I wanted to go into campaign work.

I am a teacher.

In a few years I am going to return to school and work on a masters in Political Management (I'm thinking of a dual focus in polling and campaign management).

*Surprisingly, while people who want to go to law school are twunts, people interested in politics are fairly interesting people who you can have a civil conversation with (even if they disagree with everything you have to say).
