View Full Version : Really Weird Dreams

Last night I had a really strange dream. I dreamt I had eaten a mango.
OMGWTFLOLFRUIT?!
No, that's not the strange bit.
True to form, bits of the mango got stuck between my teeth. Always happens, always drives me up the wall - but hey, what can you do? In any case, I started trying to pull it out.
My tooth began to wobble.
Then it fell out.
Then all my other teeth on that side fell out, top and bottom.
I was, understandably, rather surprised by this. I was also somewhat upset and went around with the pile of teeth in my hands (I caught them all as they fell out), pointing to my now toothless gums (but only on the left. The teeth on my right were absolutely fine).
I was rather pleased to discover that all teeth were present and correct and not even remotely wobbly when I woke up.
Have you dreamt anything really odd lately?

well... hmm... this wasn't a very good idea to tell the person who woud spread it, but i did. But luckily I got the embarrasment over and done with.
I dreamt I was pulling a girl I like, I open my eyes to see it is one of my other girly mates' mum.
That must be the weirdest one i have had i think

Dreams where your teeth fall out "means" that you are apprehensive about maturing and facing independence and responsibility.
Dreams I have had, that wtf. Once, had a dream I was turning into a hedgehog. And being chased by a gaint sugar puff heh.

Several times I've had a dream where I'm just falling for ages, and I wake up just as I am about to hit the water below me.
Sometimes when I'm not quite asleep, but getting there, I dream that I'm walking along a path, then I trip over and wake up with a start as my head hits the ground.
Falling seems to be a recurring theme with me.
I've had others, but can't be bothered typing out specific onces at the moment.

Recently, I had a dream of which I can remember fragments, but I cannot remember what connected them. Here are the two things I remember the most.
1) in a sort of hotel/pub (an inn, I suppose) and everyone's having drinks and stuff and I get given a drink. Someone, from another direction, hands me a piece of paper and asks me to write something on it, I push my glass away, but it somehow manages to go all the way across the table and fall off the other side. I get frustrated and chuck the table over and walk outside. Dad drives me away. I cannot remember what was said.
2) In a very posh building with a very tall foyer. The walls are a sort of peach colour, the carpet is red and there are a lot of Greek-style columns around. The floors have a very large clearance, perhaps 15ft each. The stairs to the 1st floor from the ground level go up either side of the foyer (which is about 20-30 yds across) to the 1st floor where you can get off. There is another set of stairs going up parallel to each set (only a couple of feet away from them), but in the opposite direction to the ground-to-first floor stairs. The stairs come into some sort of library at the second floor where they then turn around and go up again, so they are now directly above the ground-to-first floor stairs, but ONLY ON THE RIGHT HAND SIDE OF THE FOYER. When you get to the top of this set of stairs, you can follow the carpet that was on the stairs round a crescent shape until you're directly above where the other sets of stairs (on the left side of the foyer) are. The carpet goes around until it meets the wall of the foyer (the wall behind you when you're at the bottom facing towards the two sets of stairs). If you face this wall and then turn left, the stone bannister of the stairs has followed the path around also. You can see the large entrance to the library (obscured by no doors, you just get off the correct set of stairs and you're there so you can see it from this 3rd floor vantage point easily).
I was required to get some sort of item next to the wall at the end of this follow-on from the stairs. However, there was someone guarding it, walking along a set path repeatedly in a Metal Gear Solid sort of way. I tried to dodge her and I did, but when picking up the item, I was found. I turned to the left and saw the library, the continued bannister and the hideous drop below.
I jumped, aiming to land in the library upon some soft soft books.
I woke up.
What a fucking anticlimax.

Recently I dreamed that I was waking up. You know when your alarm is going off and you keep hitting 'snooze', I dreamt I was doing that for about and hour. When it got to around 10.30am in the dream, I was woken up (for real) and was confused for a minute or so when I looked at my clock and saw it was only around 9.30am.
Don't you hate it when you have a really weird dream, and you wake up and you can remember it all, and you want to tell someone, but when you try to tell them what happened, even though you can vividly remember it all, you suddenly realise that it actually makes no sense whatsoever and what seems like a really cool sequence of events is, actually, complete nonsense and no one wanted to know?
That happens to me a lot.
allfalldown, I had a similar dream a few nights ago. I dreamt that I realised I was in a dream! I wasn't sure, though, so what I did was I made my friend, who was in the dream too, walk into a lamppost. He walked right through it because I made it immaterial! So then I started pinching myself to make myself wake up but it didn't work. When I did wake up, other things happened in strange ways, but I felt awake until the next time I woke up, which was when I really woke up because I'd actually dreamed that I was having a dream, and that dream-within-a-dream was a lucid dream which was cool. Um.
Edit -- ooh, have you ever been in bed with someone who dreamt they were falling? When they "land" ... Gordon Bennett, they don't half jolt.
I've had some dreams where it's just slightly off from reality and it fucks me up when I wake up and try to find things from my dream, or ask people about what they did.

Gordon Bennett, they don't half jolt.I once realised I was dreaming after finally managing to get to sleep despite the noise of the fish tank in my sister's room. The dream was about not being able to get to sleep because of the noise of the fish tank in my sister's room.
And I haven't been in bed with someone when they 'land', although I have 'landed' myself many times. I've never remembered what I was dreaming about when it happened though.
I've had some dreams where it's just slightly off from reality and it fucks me up when I wake up and try to find things from my dream, or ask people about what they did.My sister once became convinced she'd met Hugh Grant, presumably because of a dream like that. She hasn't actually met him.
One time I dreamt that every time I opened my hand the amount of money in it had doubled. I dreamt I put it all on my shelf and when I woke up I was extraordinarily pissed off that the money wasn't there.

A couple of months ago my dreams often had movie stars in, or seemed to be inspired by movies. I'm pretty sure I mentioned them in the last dream thread there was.

I once had a dream where I woke up, walked downstairs, had breakfast, woke up, walked downstaits, had breakfast, woke up...
Repeat about 5 times.
I then actually woke up, walked downstairs and had breakfast in a highly confused state.
I'm interested to see how our brains craft these thoughts we gets in our heads as we sleep, they can often be very strange and unrealistic and well, yeh...
I had a dream about ghosts, rather than being the souls of the dead wandering the earth or demons diguising themselves as people that once lived or whatever depiction you may have of them, they were holograms :S
Yes, I dreamt that when people see a ghost, they are seeing a hologram of someone that once stood/walked in that place at some time. Basically if someone was in a certainplace the light would record a hologram of that person in that spot and it could stay there for a while even after that person was deceased... you can tell I haven't been taught a lot in physics... interesting concept though... but it all came in a DREAM!

I think this is really symbolic. But it might not be...but it's a bloody coincidence if it isn't.
Anyway, when i was yound, (5-8) i had this horrible recurring dream where i was walking along this wooden rope bridge with everybody going to a theme park on the otherside. My mum was just in front of me and everything seems normal. Except as soon as my mum reaches the otherside safely the bridge brakes (with just me on it! Typical!) and i start falling into the crocodile infested water below me screaming. When i had these dreams they ended as soon as i hit the water and i woke up crying and with my heart pumping. After a few years they stopped and i didn't have them again.
But.... About a year ago i had it again, exactly the same dream....except instead of waking up when i hit the water i fell into the water and i saw all the crocodiles swimming near me and one lunged at me, but (This is the wierd part) i stuck my tongue out at it and swam away. That's when i woke up. And i havn't had the dream since.
i don't know whether this influences it but my mum died when i was 11 and it might be my subconcious telling me i've finally turned a corner in my life and am not afraid anymore.
I don't quite now but it puzzles me. Any theories?

I don't normally think of dreams being symbolic in the sort of supernatural sense, but I think that our dreams come from what we think, so if there is something troubling us, then we may dream about that thing (in a sort of strange, twisted way).
Angel, perhaps you were thinking about something that day to make you have that dream again, perhaps you were reminded of something that you used to do when you were younger ?
Anyways, last night I had a dream, which I could remember when I woke up about an hour ago, but now I can hardly remember a thing from it, apart from that there was practically everyone I know in it
I do remember a dream that I had a few years back though, around the time when I first started to Scuba dive, I dreamt that I was swimming underwater (not sure whether I was in the sea or in a pool etc. though) and I could breathe, yet I had no equipment on me, so I wasn't diving - I was just breathing the water...

I had a dream last night where my friends came round to my house... and then we took the 75 bus all the way up the road to a BP garage and back to mine. My family had gone out for the day, and didn't return home. My friends all left bar one, who stayed and for some reason turned into Apple Dave
My parents showed up the following morning, saying they had wandered around Sefton Park all night looking for Sarchasm

SarChasm, that kind of dream is related to the dreamer's money, or so it has been told, so it means you're afraid of losing your money.
Anyway I'm glad you mentioned this topic, I've just got up, and the dream I had an hour ago was me staring at a computer screen, and someone was making their site's statistics page with html. I was in this dream, tossing and turning probably, going "N-N-NOEEESS" in my head.
That's how much life these forums have sucked out of me.

Last night I dreamt that I met the bassist of the Arctic Monkeys. We were in the foyer of some random theatre where the walls were basically massive windows, and through them you could see sky, so I must have been a fair few floors up.
There was a bar in the background several feet from the bassist who was sitting in front of me, arm on the circular glass table. I asked for his autogrpah, and he agreed - but then I realised I needed something for him to sign.
I searched desperately for any piece of paper I could find as I could see on his face he was becoming impatient.
I finally found a piece of folded paper amongst many others - it was the lyrics of their latest single I Bet You Look Good On The Dance Floor (Went to Number 1 on Sunday! Woo! [/unrelated]) and for a reason beyond my understanding, I felt this was the perfect thing for him to sign.
I asked him to make it out to Mike (me) but then I realised my friend SJ who lives round the corner from me and likes them too might want his autograph too, so asked if he'd sign something for her too. With a look of annoyance on his face, he said he would.
I then somehow produced a copy of Romeo and Juliet from my pocket (the same one I use at school right now as we're studying it in my English class) and tried as quickly as possible to find the line that reads "There ain't no love no, Montagues or Capulets" as I thought it would be an impressively ironic addition to this quote in my book to have the Arctic Monkeys' bassist's autograph there (!?!?)
This line does not exist in Romeo and Juliet. It is, in fact, a lyric from I Bet You Look Good On The Dance Floor.
Obviously, as this quote doesn't exist, my furious search for the quote never came to a conclusion. But, as I somehow thought I was about to find it ("Oh wait, it's in this part of the play! I've almost got it! Hold on a mo...") the bassist got tired of waiting, and a friend in the background said they "really have to go".
And the dream was done.
And what's more - while typing this out, that song has just played on my iTunes while it's on random play
I keep dreaming of a girl in my photography class, and i'm doing her on a level in half life 2. Odd.
I shouldn't be dreaming of another girl! It's not good.

I drempt that I was being chased by giant geese. But thats the only dream I remember, I forget them really easily.
Thats because you only remember dreams if they wake you up, and what you do remember rarely stays for more than a few minutes unless you are properly woken and think about it. Being chased by giant geese is not exactly a calming exercise, so you remember it because it probably scared you.
I had a weird dream a couple of nights back. It wasnt weird in what happened but weird in how it felt. The dream was short and simple (presuming I remember it all) and it was that a black dog ran up to me, knocked me to the ground and started biting my arm. In terms of the dream the only other thing I remember was thinking aggressive thoughts. Outside of the dream though I was thinking about it, and I was thinking how it didnt hurt whatsoever, but despite this I was trying to scream but couldnt. Now I have never had one of those dreams you hear about where you try to do something but cant, but let me tell you, its really weird. Anyway, what happened eventually is I think that I actually made a noise in real life, and I heard it and woke up. It wasnt a scream as I was trying, thank god, but I think it was just a small moaning kind of thing. Anyway, I ended up with a feeling as if I was fighting to stop the dream, and I was torn for a few moments between seeing the dream and seeing my room. Then I woke up...and thought it was weird.
Thank you please

One of mine lasted two hours (it had a clock in the corner - I'm not joking.)
It included:
Me living in a house not too far from this one
Having to look after a blue egg (for £20) that became a 100-foot woman with laser eyes
30 stone steps on the same road, with a vending machine at the top. It was 2m tall with buttons to order drinks from top to bottom. They all had film certificates on, and my brother couldn't order a Coke because it was a 12. The alchoholic drinks came in glasses, so they smashed when they landed.
A gun nut outside my house
Everyone from my old school on the streets, randomly trying to kill me
It ended with me being sick in third person. I woke up and threw up. Scary dream.

Oh yeah and theres another one that I didnt like very much. I was walking through a dark tunnel with a friend, then I saw a load of chavs at the end of it. I didnt want to walk past them, but then I found my mate had gone. I went in to the tunnel, nobody noticed me, but I saw my friend looking for me down some steps. Then, I was back outside my house, walking towards the door and some people pulled up in a car. I didnt pay attention, I just went inside, and when I closed the door I was shot. I saw the gun through the door and the strange thing is although I panicked the thing I thought was not shock at seeing a gun but it was noting how silver the gun looked. Anyway, then I was shot and woke up. I didnt like that dream much, I didnt want to sleep for a while after.

Several times I've had a dream where I'm just falling for ages, and I wake up just as I am about to hit the water below me.
Falling seems to be a recurring theme with me.
I'm always getting dreams like this!! My brother has a theory that you die if you "hit the water" or the ground, cause I always wake up right before it happens!! When I was younger, like 5, I used to have a recurring dream that i'd be walking along a bridge which is near my house, when the sides would collapse, and the path would get smaller and smaller till it would finally be gone and i'd be falling towards the water ! That's when i'd wake up :nana:
I told me mam about this and she said she used to have the same recurring dream as me when she was younger!! Pretty weird, huh?
Dreams freak me out, when you think someone you know has died, and you see them the day after, it's scary :nana:

I dreamt one time that I became a monster when i pouted my lips... Then hairs would grow on it, and then i could spit fire!
And I used to drown a lot... but happily it didn't happen..
And once I dreamt we had an infra red lamp, and then we put our cat under it and then it grew very big and he could suddenly talk and then he ate us all!!!

The dreams I remember typically:
Extremely recurring dream where I see toilets on olympic podiums, use one, fall through it into a cafe, go outside and get eaten by ghosts (though this varies), and hasn't reoccured since childhood.
Being naked, only me noticing. (this means I'm introverted, what's new?)
Submerging a laptop in water. (relatively new, probably from the trauma of spilling vimto on it).
Screaming, no sound. (relatively old, resurfaced with a fabricated burglar at the back door).
Falling in the (usually) fatal way, but waking as I hit the ground.
If I have had a lucid dream, it was in childhood when I wasted it.
Only one dream with sex (in a vague hugging way) with a girl of hispanic origin, short, vague and disappointing.
Meh, I've already described my screamer dreams at some time.
Well Angel@heart I think you're probably right in thinking you're just not afraid anymore. I suppose initially it may have symbolised the fact that you were scared of being away from your Mum or loosing her. Now you might have delt with it and so when you do loose her you can cope and so the crocodiles swim away :) I'm not sure though.
The weird dreams I have freak me out because they come true....
Recently I kept getting a recurring dream where my knee went all weird and dislocated. Sure enough about a week alter I dislocated it badly (for the third time) and have been on crutches for the past five weeks.
Also I had the teeth getting knocked out dream but after that I knocked one loose when I passed out and smacked my face on the tv cabinet. As you do.
Oh and in another one the bus driver told me I wouldn't be in school on a certain date and then about a month later on that exact date I missed school for a doctors appointment.
I think there have been others to but I forget.... I don't know if they are premonitions or just huge huge coincidences but it's really starting to freak me out. Now whenever i have a particularly nasty dream I can't help wondering if it's gonna come true in a couple of days.
Ah well the other dreams I have are suitably weird and random and are quite fun :D Like when I learn to fly or chase blue dogs or when the radio alarm clock gets into my dreams and manipulates them oddly. Though tis an oddment that I can never remember the cool stuff.
Edit
Oh yeh forgot about the lucid dreams, I can do them sometimes but only when I'm in an incredibly light sleep and they usually involve the thing I was thinking about before I drifted off..... just with less reality. Apparently you can purposefully lucid dream but its really tricky.

I always have a dream that im at school doing PE or something and i am suddenly not wearing anything below the belt...and im trying to run around find something to wear and people laugh, its very strange.
Another one i had is were i am having a shooting competition with a chav, he shoots me in the leg i shoot him in the chest, all the class is watching, he doesn't die he runs after me with the class running after me to, i run outside and run like hell till i get to london ( i live in yorkshire ) this one guy is still running after me, and i know him, he is a bit annoying at times, anyway back to the dream so hes chasing me and we run into an ice rink, he has a bike and rides up to me but crashs, i steal someone elses bike and ride off to a massive tower that has a huge rope going to the bottom... i get to the top and climb down the rope, the person chasing me out of site, the rope breaks but i climb to the top...on the top there is a sleeping bag and a pillow, then i wake up.

Apparently you can purposefully lucid dream but its really tricky.
I've heard about this, apparently if you teach yourself to switch on/off the light every time you enter a room, you will eventually do it in a dream, and since your brain isn't very good at altering light levels you will immediately notice and realise what's happening. However I have never tried this method as I never remember my dreams anyway, so I can't be bothered. Plus I live in a house with two other people, so I'd look like a tit.
As for my own stories, I did once have a semi-lucid dream. It was odd, these little things were flying around, sticking to people and exploding, dunno why.
In time I realised it was a dream, then concluded that since I was dreaming I couldn't be hurt, so I would grab all the exploding things, preventing them from doing any real damage (as logical as anything else that happens in dreams  )
Eventually, I decided to wake up, so I did. Funny how you know how to do that. You sort of open your eyes - um, again.
It was about 5am and I was so damn tired I dropped straight off again...back into the same dream.
Besides that, there have been countless times when I've tried to catch a basketball or tripped up or something, then I realise:
"wait a minute, where's the ball?
...wait a minute, I'm in bed!"
It usually takes a couple of seconds for the penny to drop.
Others...I remember this dream with a huge eyeball thing with tentacles that tried to eat you. Only, the weird thing was, it wasn't very good at it. It grabbed you, then you just sort of prised it off and walked away...then my class turned up for no reason, and I helped them get past it. Then I woke up.
Damn, my dreams are anticlimatic.
Also, when I was five, there was a tiger that turned up in my kitchen and tried to eat me... but, as a five year old, I hadn't really got the hang of gore and that, and I just ended up with a bite-shaped dent in my hand...odd, but very scary at the time.

Once, had a dream I was turning into a hedgehog.
Really? I thought I was the only one.
I only have dreams that I remember about once every 2 months, so I don't have much - but when I do, they're either weird or weirder.
Many times I've realized that I was dreaming inside my dream. Once, For example, I was at some large company and I was sitting in the lobby. All of the sudden I realized I was dreaming, inside the dream, so I got up out of my seat and ran around screaming my brains out. Then I woke up.
I also have dreams where I have all these cool things with me, like money or something, and I wake up and search for it to see if I really have it.
I had a period of dreams where i realised that i was in a dream...
Trouble was, they weren't very intresting. Most of them consisted of me walking along a street then throwing myself to the floor to see if i was in a dream. Then of course, the water on the street turned to rubber, and everything went all trippy.
Once had a dream where i was playing one of those game podiums you get in stores, and suddenly ended up in my pants.
I also had a fair few nightmares about ventriloquist's dummys coming to life and trying to hurt me. Hate the bastard things.

I keep having dreams where I go through an entire ordinary day at school, except the layout of the school building and my schedule are not the same. So I run around all confused the whole day, late to all my classes and pissed off, and then end up back in bed.
When I actually do wake up, I'm confused all day until I realize that I was dreaming.

I have one dream which is more of a nightmare and have had it a lot over the years.
I wake up in the dream and the house has no power, so I go downstairs to the fuse box, soemthing is in the dark and moves towards me I turn and run but as I run it is like I have something slowing me down and it is in slow motion, I get to the stairs and can see the shadow has moved closer and is really fast.
Next thing I know I am in my bedroom and the door is locked I go to the window I look out and a witch like woman is screaming at me that she will get me, she is perched in a tree that is covered in sharp thorns.
I wake up! frozen to the spot, I literally cannot move for ages as if she is in the room with me, eventually I throw myself out of bed and switch the light on.
Weird thing is I have had this dream since I was a kid only less frequent now I am older.

I had two really weird dreams last night, possibly due to the fact that I was quite late getting to bed and I didn't sleep all that well anyways.
In the first, I can't remember much, but there was a fridge full of food (of the sort that you would usually hope to find in a fridge) but there was also this tube of some sort of creame or ointment in there. I took this out of the fridgee and put it somewhere else, but it always kept reappearing inside the fridge. I think that I took it out of the fridge a good 5-6 times yet whenever I looked back in it was there again...
The second was a rather odd affair. I was running through the streets of some city, in France I think, and there were these people after me (I think they were my brain's stereotypical french police). I was running away from them fairly successfully until they started to send tanks, helicopters, and other such military hardware after me. I somehow ended up jumping around dodging missiles. It didn't end until some chav (don't know where the hell he came from) came up to me and slapped a pair of handcuffs on me. Then for some reason this deep booming voice came out of nowhere and told me that I was a disgrace to the uniform or something, then I woke up.
Come to think of it, they may have been the same dream, but they seem to disconnected from each other to be honest. I don't what to know what they are supposed to mean though, :p
Good job I just wrote these down now as I can gaurantee I wouldn't have remembered them in another couple of hours time.
