Whether you had any injuries or not it'll still be quite shocking. They usually are, been in about one or two myself, you're still shaken up, know what you're feeling, but what happened???
yeah sorry, i forgot to mention the crash thing, i was too caught up in the fiona bruce moment.
ive been in afew, one that rolled once and landed on its roof while i stupidly wasnt wearing a seatbelt (oddly, i didnt get hurt at all though) but very scary all the same. It shakes you up to know that it can happen anytime without warning.
Clunk, click! Wear your seatbelt! :eng101:
It's only been the law since liek 1960-something. Can't imagine why.
I do hope the people in this thread were not at fault when they had their accidents. I would hate to think there were any reckless drivers on this forum! :o
Hope you don't spazz out with delayed shock, Mr Björn :)

This is very reassuring that almost everyones been in a car crash - I'm learning to drive! Argh scary people. My boyfriends mum never wears a seatbelt and it scares the crap outta me. I always wear a seatbelt and tell other people to if they dont. My boyfriends mum refuses to wear hers because she's "scared it will kill her in a crash by strangling her!" How NOT logical is that????? (Couldn't make the sentence make sense!!)
edit: i hope you're ok after the crash though. I get the feeling that being in a car crash makes people very wary on the roads and much safer drivers. Might not do though *shrugs shoulders*

Well, I missjudged everything as I came towards the crossing. A new road and I've never been driving on it before. THought the crossing was more like a parallel street or something and the warningsigne was to the other road that would cross mine. But it wasnt, it was meant for me. Anyways. AS I usually do i check a quicky in both directions and dont see any lights from a car. So I keep driving. And suddenly I see 2 lights and thinks"SHIT!". And the moment after that I got hit. My car drove of in a direction towards some trees. I managed to drive between the trees so I wouldnt get a total stop. At the moment my car stoped I threw myself out to see how the other person was. SHe seemed fine and was talking to her husband. I phoned the ambulance and they came and took us to the hopital. My neck was alittle soar, but it wasnt injured. So I'm ok on the injurypart. Shaken though. My hands are shaking at this moment. The other driver was hurt around the shoulder and knee. But nothing broken(that was what they thought anyway when I went to see her after X-ray.)
Oh and yes I will be driving more carefull, not that I didnt drive carfull before. And this time i even drove under the speedlimit.
The conclution: It was my fault that we crashed.
And I had my seatbelt on.

Good to know that nobody got badly hurt, though I should imagine you're pretty shaken. What sort of damage got done to the cars?

Well, my car cant be in the road anymore. It must be destroyed. So I guess its pretty damaged. I didnt really see my car after the accident. Just climbed out from it to run and see how the other person was. Nver went back to my car. Though my friends says its pretty fucked up. Tomorrow I will go and take a look at the car and take some pictures.
Edit: Thanks for your replys.

Does anyone else find it ironic that I'm listening to Hypnotize by System Of A Down while I'm reading this?
"I'm just sitting in my car..."
Anyhow, I'm glad no-one got injured from any RTA's recently. The worst I've been in was when a tree branch puched a hole in the window of my school bus. It wasn't pretty. :(

RTC's now, apparently not all RTA's are "accidents", but all are "collisions". Usual red tape madness there then.
So long as everything safe it's all good. You've got a lot to learn from that accident; I stacked my car into a shop window in the snow once, and these days as soon as I have to brake rapidly, the brake pedal gets pumped ;)
Have fun with the insurance! *coff*
Angel's boyfriend's mother is an idiot. I hope it doesn't take an accident to show her that :/
Angel, tell her it's the law and she doesn't have a choice over it. Also, never let her sit in the back, because if she's in the back and there's a crash, she'll kill the person in front of her.

I've told her so many times. She knows it's the law aswell....she just drives carefully when she sees a police car. I really hate her for doing it. She scares my boyfriend so much and i think it is so cruel. No one can explain to her that she's more likely to die because shes not wearing her seatbelt!

The government think everything is deliberate and that people must be crashing their cars on purpose!!
Whoa.... Hope your friend will be okay.
Was that to me??? :ninja: i'm confused!

I was in a similar situation a couple of years ago (drove my car into a telegraph pole @ ~50mph), and it really shakes you up. Especially when you have to deal with the insurance, police and stuff afterwards, it can really drag on. But don't let all that distract from the fact that everyone is OK; that is what is important.
And get back in the saddle as soon as you can, it helps.

Angel:
Yes it was scary. But what has expensive to do with it?
McFrenzy:
Yeah. It was a Volvo. If it had been another car I probebly wouldnt have been so lucky to get out without any injuries.

Insurance??? I suppose you don't need repairs but you supposedly need a new car = lots of money :weebl: or am i wrong?

Given that it's a C-reg, I'm guessing that's a write off straight away.
As you said, Volvo's are safe cars, you're lucky to have your ankles in one piece there.
Though credit to you, if you're gonna wreck your car, might as well do it properly! :D

*angel* show your boyfriends mother this (http://www.pp.okstate.edu/ehs/kopykit/seatbelt.htm)
"Wear It Right
"Properly worn" means with both straps snugly fitted to transfer the impact of the collision to the parts of your body that can take it - your hipbones and shoulder bones. With just the shoulder strap on, you can still slide out from under it and be strangled, while the lap belt alone doesn't keep your face from hitting the steering wheel."

Well. We will get the exact worth of the car from the insurence company. I think. My dad will do all that work for me.:)
