A reminder for anyone who may have forgotten about it (I almost did) that the clocks go back an hour at 2 tomorrow morning, giving us all an extra hours sleep.
Enjoy your free lie-in, it only comes once a year

Mmm... one extra hour. Which is good for me as I seem to be one of those people who really needs sleep. I can live on 8 hours (droswily) but on weekends or half term (i.e. most of this week) I use about 12.

Thats good. I can waste even more time in the morning as I have nothing to do and go "shit, is that the time?" then slam my head so hard on the pillow I give myself concussion and sleep for a week.

When does this happen in other countries? I know we are generally a week or two out of step with Europe one way or the other (so once a year, for a couple of weeks, we line up CET, and for a couple of weeks we're two hours out instead of one*).
When does this happen in, for instance, the USA or Japan (if it does)? When do our Aussie bretheren have to crank their alarm clocks forward? When would a wealthy Russian wind his Rolex back (and when would a Greek stallholder break his "Rollex" trying to adjust it)?
We need to know.
*Yes, I just thought about it, and it never happens - there are two periods where ourselves and CET line up. D'oh!

It doesn't matter when you do it. Just do it before you go to bed.
I would like to see some dense person just wait till 2AM just so they can move their clocks back. :D

WHY DO YOU PEOPLE THINK THIS IS A GOOD THING?
Yes, you get an extra hour which you probably wont even notice. An hour which was stolen from you when the clocks moved forward several months ago. This means the end, the end of looking outside and saying "Ooh, what a nice day, I could have sex in a field." Sure, if they didn't put the clocks back I probably wouldn't have been affected as badly and would have gradually got used to the deteriorating weather. . .but they know that. Those SELFISH BASTARDS need us to realise, realise that those happy fun summer days are over so we can go and pump our money back into the economy instead of saving for a speedboat (awesome!). Mostly giving it to people who sell coats, scarves and other garments, people who have such boring lives that they mark a date on the calendar for when the new earmuffs are due in. Un-be-fucking-lievable.
You can donate to my speedboat fund via PM. I'll give you a ride. It'll be SO cool.

I love this time of the year but as everyone says I hate the early part of the year missing one precious hour. At least now our nights will be darker :) Woohoo!!!

I stayed up last year to watch mine go back by themselves (radio clocks) That was fun.

When the clocks are about to change, my body realises before I do. The past couple of days I've been waking up an hour later than I've intended. When I'd usually expect to wake up about half past ten, I've been finding it's closer to twelve.
So I'm looking forward to getting my sleep pattern back to normal again.
Hmm...i couldn't sleep last night. A hour extra isn't going to help :I

We changed all our clocks last night in preparation. Then, when sitting on the couch this morning, goddamn BBC ceefax and the digibox both didn't auto update, so at '10am' we thought SHIT the kids are late for school* and ran around like nutters. Then we have the good sense to phone TIM (The speaking clock) who confirmed it was indeed only 9am.
Bastard BBC - get your sodding act together!
*yes, the kids go to school on sunday - they're Jewish

I've been confused as hell!
I thuink going to bed last night, the compuyter has said it was 01.50ish, then a few minutes later, when i'm gettingin to be, my phone tells me its 2.58. SO I get it into my head thats because my phone must have autoupdated - and we actually lose and hour, in bed, when I thought we gained one. I was then quite surpirsed to find my poot hasmnt autoupdated. Then I realise freeview has autoupdated, and even my stereo - which clearly doesnt know what day it is. It then dawns on me that maybe the poot is the only thing which did autoupdate. And I should have had an extra hour in bed.
Ho hum, although I do find the freeeview thing a bit odd. It's telling me the time an hour out, but also telling me when programmes begin/end and hour out. That said, it often tells me its about 6 hours ago. Rubbish modern techmology.

Well, I forgot.
I got up at around 10ish, got confused when my parents told my I was up early and made an excuse about having lots to do today. I forgot to change the clock in my car too.
Well, to make up for it I shall go to bed an hour early with a good DVD. Maybe Batman Begins....

CET changes its time on the very same day, it didn't used to, but now it does.
At least in Spain...
After getting up at 5am this morning (kid thinks its 6am) I had to keep him going till 7pm tonight, and believe me when i say, he usually gets over tired by about 5pm normally. Him being tired means many tantrums and screaming, but i kept him up till 7 (which he believes is 8pm as he's too young to understand time) to try and get him to wake up later in the morning (please let it work!)
Did that make sense?
