I've got me a problem. I want to put my Scrubs DVD episodes on my computer but have no idea how.
I'm not the most technologically minded person in the world, but I know the basics. I just want to put a couple of episodes on my PC that I can watch with Windows Media Player or Quicktime so I don't have to carry around loads of discs. I'm not going to host them on the net or sell copies.

The trouble is, when it comes to stuff like this I have real trouble understanding.

Can someone please tell me in simple language or direct me to a online guide. When I say simple I mean really simple, like you would for your Grandfather.

I searched other threads and google, but they all seem too complicated.

Please help me, I have no where else to go.

Was that a deliberate attempt to make me go, WHAT!?!?!!
Seriously I need something less confusing.

EDIT: I use Windows XP by the way.

What you need is a DVD ripper, a program which will decode the DVD and save it as a movie file. Like the program that Midget^ suggested. The software on that page seems simple enough, stick you DVD in, run the software and tell it to copy to an AVI file (which is a type of movie file).

You may find Wincopy DVD (http://www.wincopydvd.com/) easier, it has wizards to help you. Or search for "DVD Ripper" on google for others.

Disclaimer:
I can't really recommend either program though as I'd much rather watch my movies from my sofa with a nice german beer :)

Listen to zen and eccles.

I just tried that program I linked you to and it doesn't work, without buying the whole product you can only convert small sections of the DVD.

I'd try the programs they suggested if I were you.

[edit]
The one eccles suggested only does 5 mins unless you buy. :(

I'll see if I can find a free one for windows...

DVDx is by far the best for DVD ripping.
It's also faster than commercial programs and FREE!!!
Unfortunately it is quite complicated
I'll try and find the website for you

EDIT:
Found it. This is the homepage: http://www.labdv.com/dvdx/
