About Photoshop. Do you have to pay a subscription fee? Or is it free and....can you download it off the internet or do you have to buy it from the shops?

You can buy it on the internet.

It's pretty cheap on ebay, I got a copy of the whole adobe suite for a fiver.

You can also download a free trial at adobe.com which lasts for 30 days.
