I think she should be hung drawn and quartered. If he had so much as raised a hand at her he would've been lynched by the press. As it is they're probably going to crack jokes at his expense.

In a society where the genders are meant to be equal, it is so full of double standards. Saying that, he probably declined to press charges, although I would've just to make an example.
