Hello forumites. In this thread i would like to inform you that my physics class has been able to wrangle an interveiw with the famous (in america apparently) theroetical physicist Dr. Michio Kaku for his radio show. My teacher has asked all of my class to think up questions. But id like to open up this to others, as ive got a few questions, but im sure you clever lot may have some even better ones for this boffin. If you have no idea where to start with theoretical physics, check out his site http://www.mkaku.org/. Here youll find an interveiw he did for the BBC Hardtalk Extra. In it he discusses parallel universes, multiverses, his string theory and God (being partial to both christianity and buddism he has very intersting opinions on some of the big questions). He is apparently a really nice bloke and famed for his ability to explain complex things and communicate them in language that normal people can understand. So ever been bugged by any questions like "What happens if you reach teh edge of the universe (although its impossible as the universe is spreading out faster than the speed of light, which means we would struggle to ever reach it) would we hit a wall? or get stuck in a mass of nothingness?). Please leave your questions here and i will try my hardest to get them in the interveiw questions (ive already said we only have 10 minutes, but i doubt my school friends have that many). um... DISCUSS!

What happens when a car traveling at the speed of light puts the headlights on?

If the universe is still expanding; what's on the other side of the leading edge of this expansion?

Also, is Schrodinger's Cat dead? :D

Where do all the dimensions go in string theory?
Also, if there is a string theory, is there a kitten theory?

Is that your real name? Does your surname mean "poo"? Cos, you know, it looks as if it does to be honest.

If Billy is travelling at lightspeed back through time and William is travelling at lightspeed forward in time will they ever meet? (Serious Question)

Also at what time coz Billy owes me a fiver and William has his wallet? jkg :D

Hmm. Sehr interessant.
Do you go backwards in time if you go faster than the speed of light?

I have told you before I have not got preteens in the back! If you say that again I will sue you for libel!

Anyways, ask him about the theory of purrpetual motion, as referenced in a Look What I've Found thread a while back. I am intrigued, and I have inventions set up. I need a physicist to help me become rich.

following the rules of E=MC^2. At the speed of light you can not go faster, but the energy you putt instead then gets turned into extra mass although you will not get larger. But this extra mass slows you down so you have to put more energy in which gets turned back into mass causing a wonderful chain which makes perfect sense to me.

Good questions btw keep them coming. If you want another sourse of possible questions click this----> http://lisa.jpl.nasa.gov/

Will Hydrinos and CQM lead to the death of Quantum Mechanics? And does it actually work?

I mean, there's a limit to how close the electron can be to the proton, which is defined in quantum mechanics to be utterly unalterable, but the guy developing it (I forget his name) says the electron, which is transformed from its CQM 2-dimensional point state into a 3d shell/sphere state, can be collapsed further into orbit around the proton, thus changing its base state and releasing lots of energy.

It's fascinating.

Halfway through the interview, just suddenly go "STOP!"

" . . . hammertime!"

And see what he does.

Well we did the interveiw was aired on wednesday. i sadly got told that my questions were too zany, so i had to pull back and ask a really dull question. But it is a realy funny interveiw, he goes on for ages even if he actually doesnt know the answer. We all had to be very polite sadly i would have loved to given him a ribbing. I asked the third question (Im the bloke sounding retarded). Were also all actually 16 by the way which gives a little bit more of an excuse to be stupid.

Heres a nice link for you.
http://archive.wbai.org/files/mp3/051116_170002explora.MP3 <--- The interveiw starts at the 37th minute. You can listen to some other bloke getting rather pationate about something.

Knock yourselves out kid. Sorry i couldnt make it more exciting, blame my physics teacher they really wanted to make the school sound good.

Listen out for Amy having a coughing fit as well halfway through
