... but what about those bands that just don't fit into or can't really be classified by Genre? Some of my favourite bands at the moment don't abide by the basic characteristics of any one genre, because they either take many influences from many different styles, or just have a completely individual style all their own.
List some of your favourite bands who don't technically fit into any one Genre, giving a short description of what makes them so different.
Some of my favourites include...
Mad Caddies: Thought by many to be Ska-Punk, but they have maybe 3 Ska songs, if that, on any one album. They have a pretty firm grounding in punk, but they can go from Punk Rock, to full-blown ska, to Ska-Punk to reggae, blues, jazz even Dixie or Pirate-Core*. Almost every song of theirs sounds completely different. That's what makes them so special and different.
*Pirate Core, is a genre invented by the caddies themselves. Think sea-Shanty, with rock guitars. Better yet, try and look for the song 'Weird Beard' and give it a listen.
