Roy Keane has left Manchester United by mutual consent.
The Old Trafford club confirmed in a statement on Friday that Keane, 34, had left with immediate effect after 12-and-a-half years with United. I am shocked. Not that it has happened, but more or less the timing.
I would say that we would miss him, but we really haven't had him there for years now, as a playing figure that is.
Thoughts...

Way passed his best for a good couple of seasons now..
I think it will be good for the mancs (unfortunately) as his outspoken ways were sometimes to the detriment of the club..

It was going to happen, he wasn't going to renew his contract, and by hitting out at the team it was probably inevitable
But hey, he did play well for you in years gone by. He'll be back with someone as player/coach in the near future

He'll go to Celtic or maybe be the new Ireland manager.

Nope because he hasn't retired.
Lucky he left Man U though, or Luis Garcia would've gone the way off Alf Inge Haaland for daring to injure him.

Id be happy to see Xabi banned for a few games if he got rid of Lamps*.
I hope Keano goes to West Brom, but i can only see him actually going to Celtic.
*Not really, revenge tackles are bad

How did you deduce that? Because he played his last match against them?
And he might not go to Celtic (I hope) since they probably cannot afford his salary. He'll have to take perhaps more than a 50% wage cut.

Because his fibnal blow was an injury at Liverpool. If he didn't have that 3 weeks off to whinge on TV shows, he might still be there. You never know what could have happened.
To be honest, I think it's also this stuff about Ballack being tempted to join by offering him the chance to be skipper. If Keano isn't the captain, there isn't really much point of him being there.
I don't think he'll carry on playing, simply because I think alot of Keanes game comes from his passion and love for Man U. If he does, it won't be the same. It's like if Carra went and played for the Mancs...
However, even as an Englishman, I'd love to see Keano as manager of Ireland.
