Flowers and messages and other tributes have appeared outside the hospital he's in. According to the Beeb report above he's no longer recieving treatment - meaning his death is imminent.

Great footballer but I have no sympathy for him. Other people would have made the most at a second chance in life but he just wasted his.

QFT Chavvy. Amazing footballer, he will be missed for that only. I, however, have no sympathy for the man as that liver that was donated to him, AND that he ruined AGAIN could have gone to someone who genuinely needed it to live a full prosperous life. He's an arse now, and whether he lives or goes, it won't bother me too much

I think it was out of a dead person's body

Regardless of whether it was or wasn't, someone else could have put it to better use than Best, he's once again abused donor organs. Maybe the person below him on the list would have needed it more than him, but because he was a good footballer (and famous) he got first priority. I still feel nothing towards him

I was never denying that. He has ruined two livers and it is his fault that he will die.

How can you get a LIVER out of a non-dead person's body?!
I heard that when the doctors told him he had only an hour to live, they said: "Good news though - it's Happy Hour" :D
And yes, I'm making a tasteless joke, because of the point Chavvy made.

Great footballer, even in Belguim people have been morning, so it shows you how widely respected he was. He was a great footballer and man but he should have given life a second chance, instead of wasting his life (even after an operation) on alchohol and other stuff. A sad day though.:(

Because you can donate half of your liver :) it grows back over time.
He will be missed. But I feel for his farther, who has lost his wife and now son through drinking.

For liver transplants they prefer to take a whole liver from a dead person, if they were to take a portion of liver from a live donor it would have to be from a parent as children only have half of your genes. George Best had a transplant from someone who died in a car crash or a motorbike accident I think.
I know a lot of people were annoyed at the time because he got a liver when it was generally felt he didnt deserve one.
