View Full Version : Poor Owen
This man has an injury caused by stress of the small feet bones, and this injury has a long track record, including Beckham and Cole! Strangely, this injury wasn't very popular in the olden days. Might won't make it for 2006 cup in Germany. What a way for him to start a new year, for him to lose the ability to walk for 10 weeks!

One player's injury isn't really worth an individual thread is it?

2-3 months is hardly 'missing the World Cup', is it? Sven won't go to Germany without Owen so long as he's fit.

Ironic that Crouch will now end up scoring many more goals than Owen in the Prem.

I fail to see the irony.

Ironic in the sence that we lose out on a high goalscoring striker for an apparantly baron striker, and the baron striker ends up scoring more than the high scoring striker.

this injury only compunds newcastle's problems, since i've heard that real madrid will pay silly money to get albert luque, the only other decent signin that souness made in the summer

I don't support Newcastle (I'm a Liverpool fan myself) but Owen was the only reason that they improved so much from the begining of the season. Unlucky.

Who cares? I loath that little bastard being a red myselfBrilliant. You support them as long as they do great for your side, but as soon as they have gone they are a judas? Do me a favour.
Andy Cole: Manchester United legend. When he joined Manchester City, our rivals(!!!), nobody turnt on him. He gets a good reception at Old Trafford, because he gave his all when he was wearing the No. 9 shirt. Owen did the same. Show him the respect he deserves.
You dislike him, because you fear his ability.

fixorred.
Why hate a player that has done so much for us?
I feel sorry for him getting injured. Just come back from injury and scoring goals and this happens. It would have been great to see Shearer and Owen have a full season together.
Maybe he will come back hungrier for the world cup???

The reason why a lot of Liverpool fans consider Owen to be "a Judas" is his lengthly contract negotiations (which lasted most of his last year at the club) before suddenly deciding to join Real Madrid for a bargain £8m, when they could have got a lot more for him (like the £17m Madrid got for him shortly afterwards).
But there's no actual evidence to back any of that up.
Well said streety and AngryPaul!

As a Newcastle fan I'd just like to break down in tears that the only chance we had of getting a decent league position this season is now on crutches.
*Does so*
*Pulls self together*
Maybe Ameobi will pull himself together and start to find the back of the net. Or maybe bird flu will wipe out every other Premiership team thus meaning Newcastle win the league by default.
Either way it's not going to happen.

I dunno about hungrier but certaintly fitter.
He will be back in a couple of months, will play until the end of the season and be sharp and fit without being jaded.
Since I don't give two shits about Newcastle I couldn't be happier. :D

Yeah. He won't have lost match fitness, and not kicking a football for months will have zero effect on his game.

I think he will come back sharper. He may not have played for a while, but I think that he will go mental to prove his worth to Newcastle after such a stuttreing start to his career there.
