I am looking for software that will allow me to edit Mp3's...
Something that will allow me to crop music like you can with movies in Adobe Premiere and Final Cut Pro.
I am not worried about the price (\o/ student loans).
Anyone know of/use this type of software?

Audacity. (http://audacity.sourceforge.net/)
Completely free, multi platform, excellent audio editor.
Snip, change pitch, change tempo, add echos, add wah wah effect, and loads more effects than you can shake a stick at.
Just be aware that in order to export as mp3 you have to download a lame_enc.dll file but that's piss.
Enjoy.

Better than that is a program called -- Adobe Audition. (http://www.adobe.com/products/audition/main.html) It's quite simply the very best. Unless you are willing to spend 1000s of dollars to get the professional programs, but I am unaware of any that are actually better than Audition.

I use Wavepad (http://www.nch.com.au/wavepad/) and it's fine for me.
(You can just use Movie Maker and it'll let you save it as an audio file :p)

I will have a look at Movie Maker. I have never used it :)
In the process of buying Audition though. \o/

Indeed, having worked brielfy at a local radio station, I even go them to start using it, although it was still Cool Edit Pro at the time, then Adobe brought it out. download the trial version and see how you get on.

I would get Cool Edit Pro!
It's a brilliant bit of software that lets you do just about anything to an MP3 (or indeed, and sound file). I used it for the sound on every animation i've ever made, and I bleedin' love it. Simple to use, too.

Cool Edit Pro is now called Adobe audition, and as ^he^ said, it's probably the best software you can get (without paying bajillions, but alas, it's still 200+ great british quids anyway by the look of it.)
30-day trial here (http://www.adobe.com/products/tryadobe/main.jsp#product=92),
If you want free, no doubt the best is Audacity, but it won't hold up to what Audition does. If you're only going to be cropping mp3's audition ain't worth it, for everything else it is.
