In case you haven't noticed, the sequel is
a very popular thing in the moviemaking industry. Nearly every good
movie that gets a good review has or will at some point in the near
future, have a sequel made. Take, for instance, The Lion King. Great
movie. However, Disney then had the "great" idea to make a second
one. Remember, "Lion King 2-Simba's Pride?" Yeah. It sucked. Now,
the great film "Madagascar" will have a sequel, "Pirates of the Caribbean"
is coming out with one...the list goes on and on and on.
So what will happen if these sequels continue? Wouldn't some
characters such as Mr. Gibbs in "Pirates" or any other similar
characters eventually die? And what about the aging process? Well,
here's a look at what might happen and even some potential ideas
for future films:
-"Madagascar":
-The penguins set up a colony on the island, only
after which they realize that none of them can survive in tropical waters. In which case, all die except Skipper, who creates a makeshift armada of rafts,
on which he sails back to New York.
-Marty, Alex, Gloria, and Melman all end up remaining on Madagascar, after which they also realize that there is a limit to what the island
has to offer, and none can get the nutrition they need to survive.
In which case, Marty and Gloria decide to travel with Skipper back
to the zoo.
-"Pirates of the Caribbean":
-Gibbs gets really old...I mean, REALLY old. He is reluctant to
admit his age and dies in a horrible accident involving a cannon and
a few rogue pirates while on an excursion to Tortuga.
-Jack Sparrow drinks himself into oblivion, goes temporarily
insane, recovers, and opens his own Alcoholics Anonymous clinic.
-Will and Elizabeth get married, have kids, and live out their days
in happiness until they realize that their children have decided they
want to be pirates too, and run away with the just-until-recently-sober
Jack.
-"The Hobbit(prequel that sequels The Lord of the Rings)":
-Well, there's not much that can be said about this. After all, it
is a prequel taking the place of a sequel. But there'll probably be some computer-generated dragon Smaug, and it won't be half as musical as
the animated version. Which means it will be much, much better.
-...but it still won't be as well-made or well-cast as "The Lord of
the Rings" trilogy.
-"The Emperor's New Groove":
-Okay, so we got the idea that Kuzco is nice, Yzma is a real b**ch, and Kronk is a fun, lovable dumba**. So what else could happen? Well, Kronk submits a tape of Kuzco in to a dating show, where the tape is evaluated and selected as a potential bachelor.
-Kuzco is then called by the company that created the show, who tell him that they accepted his tape.
-While on the show, Kuzco's run as the eligible bachelor runs for two full seasons, during which he insults, dumps, and otherwise ticks off every single young woman in the South American world. Plus some Asians.
-"The Incredibles":
-Violet Incredible starts dating Tony, who they find out is a real scumbag behind the sweet, sensitive exterior. And then Mr. Incredible kicks his arse for upsetting his daughter.
-Dash is accepted for the all-state running team, at which he blows the family's cover as superheroes, and they have to be relocated again.
-Jack-Jack says his first words: "Back off, wisea**!"
-And Mrs. Incredible yells at Mr. Incredible for swearing while fighting the bad guys in front of the kids.
So, what do you think? Are these predictions up to par...or is there something you're not telling us?
Please let me know if you have any epiphanies as to other sequels.
thank you.
