the masters 2006

So, today the masters tournament concluded. And up until this tournament i've always been one of those guys who've been "oh god no, snooker AGAIN? I don't need this shit on my telly" But this year I watched bits, I watched a fair bit of the first rounds, and was impressed, I followed the tournament through and ended up watching both of the semis yesterday, and discovered that the final today (yes, i know, i'm a snooker noob).

I tuned in as both the people playing seemed pretty damn good (ronnie o'sullivan was the guy i supported cos he's the one i'd heard of :D) and I was impressed by the accuracy, the skills and the strategy used by them, and it was quite a crackin match. I've always thought snooker was deadly boring but now i've taken the time to watch it, it can get quite tense and be a hell of a lot of fun.

So the masters went to a 9-9 decider frame, where whoever won the frame won the title, O'Sullivan started off nice and got a 60 lead, then he made a mistake and it was Higgins up, and although i was secretly wanting him to miss, I was amazed by the skill and he truly is a worthy champion. Anyone else watch the masters? Are there any other snooker or snookery things coming up on normal tv to watch out for? or is that it til the winter olympics is on and theres more fun sport on?

Tonight I arrived home and switched on my television seconds before the final frame broke off. This made me a very happy bunny.

We have to wait until April for more BBC coverage in the form of the World Championships, with young Shaun Murphy's first title defence. Snooker is like Pot Noodle, you think it's not that great and forget about it for a few months, until you give it another taste, at which point it becomes better than cocaine fuelled sex.

off subject but had cocaine sex saturday night all the way through to the early hours of sunday morning and i love it more than anything i can think off mainly due to the girlfriend turning into a really dirty minx. :love: :love: :love: gurrrrrrrr

anyway back to the point in hand.
Ive been watching the snooker everynight when i get in from work and to see Sully and Higgins in the final was great, because both are great players of the sport and im torn between the two. although i had a slight soft spot for Higgings because Sully seems to be a bit arragant now days, or is that just me noticing something that isnt there due to the amount of cocaine i done this weekend? O-)

The final today was probably the most tense game I have ever watched, both players were completely top of thier game. Shame both of them coldn't win. It was quite harsh that Ronnie lost right at the end like that after playing for so long ( started at 3:00 and finished around 12:00m with breaks) but all credit to John Higgins. Both of them gave it thier all and either of them could of won.
