I have an interview at a college tomorrow and I haven't a clue what to say etc. I've also been informed that I'll be meeting the rest of the people who have applied and it seems that I am the only one of the female variety. This does not help my nerves. If anybody has any tips I'd be very gratefull. :)

Well, what is the interview about? How long should it be?
Some general tips:
Don't speak too quickly.
Don't fidget with your hands, it will make you look extremely nervous.
Eye contact.

The interview is for a Music Tech course. I have no idea how long it will be but i know that at some point I will have to play drums for them and play them a CD of my GCSE solo piece I did.

If its anything like my 6th Form interview, you'll be fine. It may be slightly informal, it may be formal, but prepare yourself for both. Act friendly and try not to seem nervous. Shake hands, smile and keep use eye contact. If there's something you think would help your case and they dont ask you, tactfully bring it up.
Good luck!

Stay relaxed,
don't sit rigidly,
and have some lucozade beforehand.
(i'm not sure if that last one will help but
lucozade make me less nervous in interviews)

Thanks for the advice. :) I'm just worried that if I dont get on the course I'll have to stay on at school which guarntees a fail at music A level. :S

How well are you doing at GCSE? While the interview is basicly to find out more about you than can be written down, its largely your grades which will get you in (or not, as the case may be). At this level an interview won't be the single thing that they use to decide.

I'm at a B on GCSE but thats witout any help from the teacher. ¬¬ Everyone who did A level music in my school last year failed. I think theres two people in the year above me taking it and as far as I'm aware I'd be the only one taking from my year. :S

Just roll with the interview and don't give any negative impressions in your answers.
Some sound advice being passed through the students at my school for the 6th form interviews is 'lie' Though that may not be applicable. (If we say we're interested in going elsewhere it lessens our chances of being accepted for our own sixth form.)
Also, be friendly and smile. That always helps me.

College interviews are a piece of poo if mine was anything to go by. Just like any interview, be confident but not arrogant. And nod in agreement with things they say.
At mine they asked for me to bring loads of stuff with me, like my record of achievement, and any stuff to do with hobbies. I took loads of my 3D models and crap, and school reports (the better ones) and then they didn't even look at them!
Just do your best and you'll be fine!
Edit: One of the best things to get across is that you will be commited to your course, and that you wont drop out. They eat that stuff up.

I don't own a suit. :p Also this is a college filled with teenagers on a MUSIC TECH course. Half of them will be stoned.

Here's the good news; college interviews are plain and simple lies. They are not interviews at all, you are not being assessed in any way shape or form. All that matters is your GCSE grades. Really :).

Keep eye contact and smile, make it look like you want to be there, also prepare some answers to some questions (this applies to proper interviews more though) stuff like what do your friends think about you? and such lovely questions like that.
Dont feel bad after the interview if you think it went badly, I just had an interview for a placement for Siemens in Vienna over the phone, I thought it went terrible and I got the phone call saying I got it yesterday, the only problem is what the hell am I going to do, the placement starts in July and I havent got any fecking idea of what the hell to do, to the careers office!

Thanks for all the advice! ^_^ I think I have got on teh course. Of course it does help that my brother is currently on the very same course and is damn good at it. He and his friends put in a good word. Also the fact that I have two youth awards made me look good, bwa ha ha! I now have to sit and wait several weeks to see if I'm in. Also the thing about me being the only girl was awkward at first, they looked at me like I was a joke but when I proved that I was actually better musically than most of them they realised they may as well be nice to me. ^_^

I dunno. Interviewing while stoned could make for some funny anecdotes.
So he asked what instruments I played, and I just stared at his elbow.
For about six hours.
Without blinking.
Okay, perhaps not. Staying clean is probably the more advisable course of action.
Oh, and well done!

Any formal one on one while stoned is very very not fun. It's mostly:
Them:Question question question question?
You:*thump thump thump* (that's your heart)...erm...yeah...
