I've seen it for about a month now, but time happened before I walked past it, while bearing a camera, then to put photos onto PC, thence onto disk, then onto Internets.

Is this just a random piece of graffiti? Does it have any relevance to this place? Whatever the reason, I'm not happy that some [anti-social person] did that to a piece of public property, which will be repaired, ultimately, at the tax-payer's expense.

That has got to be the most convoluted sentence ever.

On the subject of the graffiti. Well, I don't approve of graffiti in general but it's much better than most of the mindless shite people write all over things.
It is actually quite good.

Graffiti done purely for art purposes is fine any other mindless scribbles is considered trash...but this one is quite good :)

One day, my kids are going to go to the same school that I used to go to, and maybe find:

MH was here on March 3rd 2004

On a wall in Bolton block and they'll think "that's my pa!" and laugh at my really neat handwriting and perfect spelling on a piece of wall that hasn't been repainted since the early '70s.

How come you never see any positive graffitti with messages like "Have a nice day :)" and other things like that. I might have to take it up just to see why...

I think graffitti is good when it's kept to acertain area
e.g. a wall designated for graffitti.

graffiti walls are great but if its just a completely incomprehensible tag its pointless.

Indeed. Proper grafitti art is a sight to behold as you know that a lot of effort has gone into its creation and that there's genuine artistic talent behind it. Mindless tagging however is just wanton vandalism and yet, the scum who do it actually think it will make them look cool.

Tagging. It's not big, or clever and every time someone tags, God Chuck Norris kills a puppy.*

* The puppy bit may be a lie.
