I had an idea for a thread when my dad sent me an E-mail about this Wednesday.
The date this Wednesday (in American form) is 04/05/06.
Now when the time is 2 minutes and 3 seconds after 1 AM or PM (12 hour time), it will be...
01:02:03, 04/05/06
So does that mean we get to celebrate Merry Wednesday.. Thing ..Day?
What odd weird small facts that people wouldn't notice normally have you heard of or discovered?

This doesn't really count, but its kind of along the same lines of cool numbers. I tried to take a photo of the dials on my car with my phone whilst driving because the milage thing just hit 66666. Thought it was cool! But i nearly crashed my car in the process

It has been 1:23 and 45 seconds 6/7/89 before so it isn't that impressive really.

But 89 is cheating.
We've got zeroes, man! Zero holds the power!
Anyways...
I was around for that, less than a month old.

I agree. Why do they insist on turning the date round... ¬_¬ it's only day/month because it's going in order of increasing temporal elements. I recognize that in most situations the date is put in MM/DD/YY format - but it's not entirely consistent. My date of birth on my Student Card, for instance, is DD/MM.

the true meaning of life will be revealed on April 2nd of 4242 AD.
Because, of course, God is a Douglas Adams fan.
...It's just a pity nobody will be around to hear it.

heh cool thread buuut I'm going to go off the whole number theme for a moment. I got an e-mail awhile ago with a bunch of stupid facts and one was "If you yelled for 8 years, 7 months and 6 days you would have produced enough sound energy to heat one cup of coffee." I don't know if that's true at all but it's still funny. anyone care to test it out?

I'm sure Chuck Norris has done it. In between slamming revolving doors and counting to infinity.
RANDOM FACT: The phrase "The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog" uses every letter in the alphabet.

The longest word you can type using the letters on line of the keyboard is "typewriter" I think thats right, but thats visible to the naked eye....
Also with that sound thing, how much is heated? Then you'd just need to work out how much sound energy->Heat/Kinetic Energy is generated every hour, then how much is required to heat the coffee... Unfortunately I know of no machine to test sound-energy.
