(Cautiously dips toe into the water....toe still seems to be intact, if a little bit cold and wet.... well, here goes)
Hello everybody!
My name is James, I am 22 years old and a medical student here in London.
Although I have visited this site regularly over the past few years, it has only been in the past week that I have begun to follow the life of the forum (I deny any connection with the fact that I'm currently failing to write my dissertation or revise for my finals which begin in... eep, 3 and a half weeks). And now, having read the multiple warnings, FAQs, advice and randomness (and had a bit of a lurk whilst I was at it), I have decided to make the first step onto the boards. So, hello, and I look forward to making a second and third step during the next break!

Do your freaking dissertation! I don't want some young doctor in the future chopping my nostrils off when I'm getting my tonsils taken out! :P
Hiya. :)

A guy walks into a doctors office.
The doctor tells him, "You need an operation".
The guy says, "I want a second opinion."
The doctor says*, "Okay, my colleague, Dr. Saknussem, would be happy to provide you with the appropriate consultation. Here's his address, and I'll have my receptionist call him and schedule an appointment. Please try to see him soon, though. At the moment, I'm concerned about the size and location of this tumor, and I think we should move quickly if we're going to get our best results."
Best doctor joke. ever.
Welcome, by the way :p

<Hauls himself out of the water. But that's where the 'Fast Times At Ridgemont High' similarity ends>
Yep, it's still cold and wet. <shivers>
Luckily for the future of the NHS this dissertation is not technically a part of my medical degree. I'm currently taking a year out to study a different BSc in Immunology and Cell Pathology. So it's more a case of not knowing whether TH1/2 cells can bind MHC class I/II (Oh dear lord I can't believe I'm writing such boring drivel in only my second post in this illustrious forum. I promise I'll make it up to the world soon!). Uh yes.. anyways..
Other subjects of my study today have included reading about the Royal Palaces and the people behind the voices of movie previews. Oh, and in so doing I found a gem of a website with some of their out-takes. But I'll do a bit of research and lurking around the 'links' board before I post it I think.
And now, back to toast (it should have cooled by now)

G'day! I daresay you seem sensible enough (Probably more sensible than me :p), and as you have already read the FAQs and such, there is nothing left for me to say but enjoy the forums, and now come to the Cheesebin! :D

Welcome to the forums, and have a plus for reading things before you post and following the rules! :)
There have been too many spamming noobs recently. :(
Oh my god, a new, non-spaming member...huzzah!
Welcome and all that jazz.

I'm currently living back in Halls in Kings Cross. But it's not too bad, I'm directly opposite Camden Town Hall so have a nice view, plus much entertainment with the weddings every weekend. It's always funny when a fairy goth wedding party starts arriving, much to the consternation of the rather well-to-do lot who are trying to take their wedding photos!

Awwww. hello there. I was fondly remembering when I was also avoiding writing my dissertation. Although maybe the internets had not been invented then. Certainly weebl and bob hadn't... *sigh*
