QFT - Quoted For Truth

Wiki description-
Quoted For Truth (Internet jargon) - Used on Internet forums following a quote to make sure that the first 'poster' cannot go back and change what they've already posted. An alternative meaning is that the 'quoter' quotes the first 'poster' in order to show that the 'quoter' agrees with the 'poster'. An example conversation looks like this: "The sky is blue" and then "qft".

Just like me.

i'll catagorise them later on today to make it more tidy (eg, insults). If anyone can give me some good catagories that would be good.

Nikolai_medic

Never knew FUBAR had an actual meaning.

FUBAR = F**ked up beyond all recognition, as in 'this be broken!' (used primarily in Military hospitals accompanied by BUNDY (but unfortunately not dead yet))

b0rked = not an acronym but meaning 'broken' (ie "link is b0rked" = "link is broken")

(sp?) = Spelling? A get out clause if you forget how to spelll (sp?)

RIS? = Is an OOOOOLD acronym from back in the day which is on the rise for no known reason.
Stands for 'Remote Installation Service' but actually is just another way of saying 'I don't get it' (normally used at the start of a reply to a random post followed by a guess at what the poster actually meant. 'RIS? You talking about ferrets?')

AICMFP = And I claim my five pounds (ie '<witty remark> AICMFP')

AIDYFP = And I deny your five pounds, when someone who AICMFPs is wrong, type that to confuse them and tell them why they're wrong. (eg 'You have ginger hair! AICMFP', "AIDYFP, it's strawberry blonde thank you")

OMGWTFBBQ = Oh My God What The F**k and BBQ combined... the BBQ is added purely for comical value.

LOLOLOLO... = Laughing out loud on (a) lampost's orange living offerings...... it just keeps going. Use this as a good comeback to someone who 'lolololol's to themself. Hilarity will surely ensue.

PVYP = Preview your posts. A new one I've only just come across, offers great advice if you are playing with Scripts (as in BBS, html, etc) in your posts for the first time.

If I encounter any more wierd or obscure acronyms and I'll drop them off

Served - not an acronym, but used similarly to owned/pwned. Short for serving someone their arse on a plate. Generally only used in reference to violence.

I was reading through the (quite excellent) Catcros thread and at the end of a lot of the captions there was either a 1 or a sequence like !!!1!!

What's that all about then?
Cheers

The '1' key being the same as the '!' key people often accidentally include '1's at the end of a row of '!'s.

So people decide to go really over the top when doing things like that, doing things like '!!!!11onetwo'. It is often accompanied with txt-speech.

A piss-take of "OMG". It has no other meaning than to mock those who use OMG.

Or OMGZ used seriously by small people who don't know any better.

Same as OMG, but the Z (apparently) means 'Zombies'.

I always thought it was just to change the way the 'OMG' was pronounced.

Like in 'ZOMG' - I always pronounce it 'Zoh My God'. :P
