Problem with second monitor.

I got a tv the other day which had an s-video socket on the back for AV3. As i have a s-video port on my graphics card, i went to Maplins, and bought a s-video cable. When i plugged it in, and turn on the second monitor, it was black and white (well greyscale). i have made sure that it is on 32-bit colour, so what next?

Make sure your driver settings are set to give out PAL output (I'm assuming it's a PAL tv). Black and white output suggests it's set to NTSC currently.
