This forum doesn't use HTML either. It uses VB (am I right?) which uses [] not <>

K. But if you take a look at the first post in the contest section HTML tags were used instead of BBcode, so I was trying to embed Google Video as well, but I guess it works only for Youtube videos.

Did you consider actually READING the instructions? :rolleyes:

To use YouTube video inline for this thread you can now use the following

youtube within square brackets url to video /youtube within square brackets there should be no spaces.

that is

[youtube ]www.youtube.com/whatever.avi[/ youtube]

without the space.

It says it quite clearly in the instructions, this is a specially added forum tag that will not display youtube videos, html is not in any way enabled. The additional vB tag is just converting [ youtube] to <embed, which allows people to post video but not abuse it with other types of html. All of the vB tags do this, like when you type a URL

the forum php is converting it to

<A HREF="www.hello.com>arse</A>

I may be wrong but I think it only works in that thread, and only with youtube due to the way google video works.

Ya but if you actually try it it seems to work like a word filter in that it converts it directly into html within the post (try previewing a post with those tags)
