Roll up ladies and gents, for the magnificent splendour that is IRC Countdown!
the_basstard and myself have set up a rather magnificent (well, we're proud of it :p) channel, in which you can play the classic TV game Countdown.
The main premise of the IRC version is that you trigger scripts by asking for vowels and consonants, and then forming the longest word you can out of the letters you have been given!
The rules of the game are simple. You are allowed to choose 9 letters in total. In this version, you are allowed the following:
Vowels:
Minimum of 2, maximum of 4.
Consonants
Minimum of 5, maximum of 7.
Now the script-triggering part! To do this, you will need to say the following:
X vowels please
Y consonants please
Where X and Y are the number you want. Also, saying "please" is important to the execution of this script. Your mum always told you to be polite! :p
There is also a system to the way we are going to be operating this. The games will take place at 19:00 every Tuesday and Thursday.
When the games start, two people will be chosen at random to play. Those two people will be voiced and mode +m will be set. This way the game is kept relatively simple, and as little confusion as possible is experienced.
Last but certainly not least, the channel is #wabcountdown!
The first game will be held tomorrow night.
EDIT: Kindly post if you're interested, so we can gauge numbers. Thanks.
