What is your favorite game of all time, and why?

I'd have to say Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars. Long ass name, for a kick ass game. I can't get enough of it. Whenever I'm in a gaming rut I always turn back to SMRPG, it never lets me down. This is the only game where Bowser and Mario teamed up, and it is also the only game with other new playable characters made by Square.

Square + Nintendo = can't go wrong!

good question. but tis hard to answer.

id have to say that DOOM 1 and 2 are allways good to revert back to. back to when games were simple and above all FUN. for new age and realism i love soldier of fortune 1 and 2.

as far as racing games go i love Gran Turismo series. :)

Strategy: Civ 2
Sport: ISS Pro Soccer on PSX
FPS: Quake 3
Top down shooter: Tyrian 2
Side Scroller: Sonic Chaos on Master System

First of all: Penguin Adventure, one of Konami's many classical MSX games. When I was a kid this game controlled my life completely, the music, the warps, the bosses....it was just perfect!

Then came the Super Nintendo, and Earthworm Jim became my favorite game-hero of all time. The graphical splendidness combined with a retarded kind of humor had me hooked for months.

And at the end of the nineties Nintendo came with a game called: The Legend of Zelda-Ocarina of Time.....and this has to be the best videogame experience I have ever had. Graphical perfection, a superb storyline and a great world to explore.

I read about SMRPG in the Nintendo mag, it scored in the top 100 Nintendo games but I would like to know more. Who is the main enemy?

As for my faveoirite game...Final Fantasy IX. People critiscise this game but it had me hooked to the end! Zidane was just an awesome character, Vivi was cool, Steiner wsa just gay but funny at the same time, the battles were frantic and exciting, the graphics are amazing, soundtrack cant be beaten...

The main boss in SMRPG is Smithy. I tried finding a picture but I couldn't get one good enough. He's sort of King DeDeDe (bad guy from Kirby)-ish, which was sort of a let down. But he transforms during the final battle, as does every respectable RPG boss. :)

I find that the bonus boss battle is a lot more fun to play, as he's stronger and has gems that attack as well.

http://www.rpgforever.com/img/screens/smrpg_4.jpg

Culex is the hidden boss found in Monstro Town. He's a character developed directly by Square, and rumors about him being in FFII or FFIII will never stop. I for one don't know if it's true or not, but it's still fun to hear about. It's small, but you can still see what's going on in that pic. It looks like the player is about to get his ass whomped, too, lol. Culex is definitely cooler looking than Smithy, and should have been, IMO, the final boss in the game. Each gem in front of him is as strong as Smithy himself, which makes the battle that more intense.

The only characters in SMRPG that any regular Nintendo fan will recognize are Mario, Peach, Bowser, and the toads. And maybe a goomba or two, hehe. Every other character in the game (there are lots) was a unique creation made by Nintendo and Square.

I really wish they would port this game to the GBA, but I doubt it. They attempted to make a sequel to it on N64 (Paper Mario), but it sucked more than Milli Vanilli. Stay away from Paper Mario, and get SMRPG. If you've already played PM, and actually enjoyed it, then get SMRPG and you'll be blown away.

Favorite game? Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. I still can't get enough of that game.

Paper Mario was great fun, but way too short and easy. The only part anyone would ever die on is the last boss, which heals for 20 (max hp is 99). I have a neighbor who couldn't read when he played it, and he beat it all on his own (except I helped him with how to fight and where to go sometimes).

I like parentheses. It's a bad habit of mine.

Its all about Half Life.
When I got that I played it religiously until I finished it.

Saying that, Zelda-OOT must be the most awe inspiring game of all time.

A number of games have really made impressions on me...

When I was 6, I just couldn't get enough of Commander Keen 4. I must've played that SOLID for 2 years... That was the game I got the most enjoyment out of...

I really enjoyed Half-Life... Can't wait for the sequel. (grrrdelayedgrrr) And I thought that Zelda OoT could have been amazing, but I still can't get past the damn Water Temple!

But the BEST game I've ever played, has to be Deus Ex. I LOVE that game! I loved the freedom, and little details, like hacking into cash machines and stealing money made it great. And it had an AWESOME storyline.

Since I'm too tired and lazy to do it myself, I copied and pasted the story from classicgaming.com.

While visiting Mario, Princess Toadstool sits down to pick flowers in the nearby garden. Blissfully unaware, Toadstool doesn't notice the dark stormclouds billowing overhead. Then, through the darkness comes the sound of a helicopter.

Suddenly, without warning, Bowser swoops in and snatches Toadstool up and wisks her away to his nearby keep. Mario, hearing her screams, races out after Bowser and his royal cargo.

After a quick match on Bowser's throne room chandaleirs, Mario races to untie the princess...when a lound rumbling shakes the castle's foundation. Then, in a horiffic explosion, Bowser, Mario, and Toadstool are flung in oposit directions away from the castle.

Mario returns to the castle moments later only to discover the cause of the explosion...a gigantic sword has crashed into Bowser's Keep! In it's headlong plunge through the skys, the sword shatters a very important part of the night sky...the Star Road.

Mario must now race against Smithy to retrive the seven star pices that have fallen all across the Mushroom Kingdom and restore the Star Road...

All the playable characters and bosses have little side stories as well, but I won't spoil the fun for ya.

My favorite game of all time has to be Soldier of Fortune 2 (Multiplayer). I've never played a game so competitively before or even online before it, for that matter.
Favorite Console Games:
-nes: Contra, BattleToads!!, TMNT games, & Zelda games
-snes: Zelda, Contra:Alien Wars, NBA Jam, Super Mario World, & Killer Instinct
-N64: GoldenEye, some wrestling games, Perfect Dark, Turok 2 !!, & OoT

Besides multiplayer, my favoite PC game would have to be any of the C&C series. Killing running civilians with nukes or running over them with 5 ton tanks got me addicted.

very hard question to answer...

i would have to say MAX PAYNE, even though i HATE XBOX. This game is a lot better than the matrix because of its storyline but it also has some aspects of the game in it. Also it very complicated as most game becoming to be. It has many good levels and i believe its the best game ive ever played...

XBOX SUCKS...MAX PAYNE ROCKS

Gotta agree with that!!! 2D, side scrolling, Unicycle racing. Genius. Also Super Mario World for the SNES is one of my most memorable gaming experiences.

At the moment, though, I've been playing "JAK II: Renegade" for the PS2 all weekend. I pretty much haven't stopped. It's brilliant. Best sense of humour in a game since Earthworm Jim.
