About ten minutes ago the private auction for Thames Water closed - with an Australian company placing the winning bid of £8,000,000,000. Let's hope they can fix the poor water management and improve general service

 they got ripped off imo. Still, it would take pretty shoddy management to make things worse from what Ive heard down there in merry old London.

Knowing the water troubles that Australia has they'll probably just steal it.

No matter how bad it is.

Lets hope this Aussie company can do better than the one at Wembley!

I feel a Peter Griffin moment coming on, you know the one with the free tibet and he phones China, you know the one.

Anyway, is the lLondon water supply really that bad. Whenever I visit I haven't noticed any problems.

Have you been perched on the edge of your chair following this, so as soon as it happened you could make a thread about it? :)

It's not that the water isn't good quality (it's drinkable), but we get tonnes and tonnes of leaks. According to the news I saw a bit ago, pretty much half of what we drink is also lost in leaks.

Water in the south east of England is very strange... almost like rocks. Dried out my skin every time I had a shower :o

Wouldn't it have been so much better on eBay? At least then it would've been taken over by some 13-year-old shit using his Dad's credit card. Which could be an excellent new move for the water industry.

the droughts been called off now but i think the hosepipe ban is still in action. There's nearly ALWAYS a hosepipe ban down here. The only time you're ever allowed to use one is when it's pissing down with rain and you don't need a sodding hose.
