View Full Version : Uninstall problem
Okey, I have Photoshop Elements, but when I try to uninstall, it says Uninst.isu is missing.
I managed to find one in another folder, and paste it into the Photoshop Elements folder.
It starts to uninstall, but it uninstalls Uninst.isu first, meaning it cannot carry on.
I'm uninstalling it so I can reinstall it from a disk, as it keeps shutting down as soon as I start it.
Help please?

can you just do a repair for the disk install?

Are you able to uninstall it from Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs?
If not, you could just always drag the folder to the recycle bin and remove all it's entries from the registry. However, I don't know how well this would work as Adobe always like to install other random crap with it, and poking around in the registry is never usually a good idea.

Hasn't got a repair option.

Comes up with: Cannot locate Uninst.isu in whatever the folder is.

You might want to take a look at this (http://www.theeldergeek.com/manually_uninstall_programs.htm) then.

..... buy a mac
Drag Aplication icon to trash > empty trash
job done, no registry B(*^&^ks, no dll rubish, no un-install issues.
don't know why people still put up with windows
Ok, I've uninstalled, and reinstalled, and it's still not working. Perhaps someone can help me with the problem.
Now, I have Photoshop Elements, because I can't really be bothered to pay to much. Perhaps I will have to buy a better version...
It starts to load up, but stops around 'Sorting Font List'. Perhaps that is the problem? Photoshop then disappears, and I try to load it up again. Same thing happens.
Now, the thing is, that it works in all the other user accounts on Windows, but not mine.

Maybe delete your accounts temp files? Not much else you can "fix" with a Windows account I think.
Close all programs then use My Computer (with "show all files") to go to c:\Documents and Settings\Your Username\Local Settings\Temp and delete everything.
I guess you could also try looking for something suspicious in c:\Documents and Settings\Your Username\Application Data\Adobe... too

Maybe so they can play games? Also, some people don't have their own computers, and use their family's computer... And I know plenty of people who just don't want to pay that amount for a computer. And I know some who just don't like Macs. Also, when Windows gives you an error message, at least you can find out what exactly went wrong.

Just done it, and it didn't work. Thanks for your help though.
