Before I start, this would also be suited to LWIF but I figured you techy people would enjoy it or at least find a lot more use out of it.

The Linux Distribution Chooser from zegeniestudios.net (http://zegeniestudios.net) is this handy little web based questionnaire that helps you work out which linux distro would be best suited you by answering a few questions. "WOAH THERE!" I hear you say, "these question answering things are stupid and take forever". That's where you're wrong" This one is beautifully put together, works fast and you get through it quickly with really simple questions. I loved it!

Anywho, I took the "test" and it said that Mandrake, Ubuntu or Fedora would be best suited to my needs. As well as suggesting a couple of others which I may like to try.

I recommend you all have a go, even if you are a little skeptical... just for shits and giggles"

I gave the chooser a go. I just installed Ubuntu on my main system after using it on a spares box. It came up with Ubuntu, Kubuntu, Open SUSE & Mandriva. So no real surprises.

Ooh this is actually really useful.

I got Ubuntu, Kubuntu or Mandriva.

Think I'll probably install ubuntu once I get my intel mac.

Gentoo or Slackware here. Not too shabby, I already use Slackware a fair bit :). I may give Gentoo a poke one day, but I doubt it'll come close to my love for Freebsd.

Ooh, I didn't know that Ubuntu Alternate existed for computers with less than 192mb RAM... I shall experiment with my 128mb-RAM-relic-laptop tonight!

Gentoo tried to emulate the ports system with portage and ended up with a not so good copy. I moved to Debian when I realised that FreeBSD didn't have the hardware support I needed. :(

I liked FreeBSD.
