I have suddenly started getting a blury screen of multi coloured pixels, i don't know what this is but it ONLY just started happening without a sign. I was thinking maybe the graphics card COULD be out of place, and i just wanted to know what you people of the W&B forum thought it was.

I really need help, and i appreciate it.

Wooooaaaaaaahhhhh..... looks like someone attacked that with a the spraypaint tool in paint....

I cant suggest much, never seen this before, but you havent been overclocking/had heat issues?

And why are your icons on top of the messenger window? is that your background?

edit: Wait, you screenshotted it? that means it cant be a monitor problem, dont know whether graphics card problems would get into a screenshot or not, But i cant think of any other reason.

Well, it's just got worse - it used to just stop and now it won't stop so this post may contain grammar mistakes.

Anyway, i've been trying to fix it but my pc WON'T start up in safe mode - any more idea's? Could it be a loose graphics card? Some mega kick ass virus? Or what?

Turn off the PC, unplug it, take the side off, take the card out and give it a dust (carefully) Replace it, check its secure, turn the PC on, (with side off) and check the onboard fan is working (spinning) hopefully it should work, but if the fan isnt (they can wear out, it could overheat, cauing that) But most cards cut out before they get to what you've posted above.

edit: Also, don't blame me if you kill yourself/your PC

try starting the PC without the graphics card in. This will make your screen look horrible but will also tell you whether its your motherboard or the card that's the problem, innit. (amirite?)

It's pretty much guaranteed not going to be the motherboard.

Two things it probably is = graphics card (obviously) or CPU. That's right kids, I'm thinking heat. Does your CPU/GPU happen to be overclocked? If so, remove the overclock... if not, I'd suggest underclocking it for the time being. Clean out the CPU and GPU's fans... leave the computer off for two hours then stick it back on, see how the temperatures are doing in the bios and make sure both fans are spinning properly. If the fans are okay and dust free and the same thing happens again, then I'm afraid at least one bit of your hardware is on the way out, might be best to replace it before it has the chance to surge and take some other stuff with it.

Got the same thing on my old video card. It's a heat problem, or you got a powersurge and it killed it. Remove it ASAP, or it WILL screw your mobo. Happened to me.

Oh yes, if it is faulty, trash it immediately. If you want to fix it, then put it in a crap computer you dont care about for the time being. I learned that bad parts can almost take a whole system when my unbranded psu decided it would randomly spark twice and then die. I was so sure it had taken the entire computer with it.

[Beez post] I was going through my PC, the drivers had been removed so i reformatted with a new graphics card, i'm not going to try the old card because i think it's blown. Basically, there's one more problem my belkin wireless adaptor isn't running it closes itself immediatly.

i disabled the wireless network zero (auto XP wireless connection) and it still closes.

Any ideas?
