View Full Version : Anti-Aliased Text in Flash

I've tried, but haven't been able to find out how to do this, hopefully someone here can help me.
In Flash, I have a preloader with text underneath the loading bar to show what percentage of the Flash is loaded. It is set to have anit-aliasing for readability, but as I already knew, when you have script to change the text inside the textbox, the anti-aliasing doesn't work.
So basically, I'm asking if anyone knows a way for the text to somehow be anti-aliased even though it's being controlled with Actionscript.
Thanks in advance. :)

Only thing I can think of is putting a really low blur on the symbol...?
I tried doing it to some bitmap text with a 1.2 high quality blur and it looked alright, not as good as regular anti-aliasing though...

Got a couple more questions:
1: If you have a sound in Flash that you, say, use as an event sound in one keyframe and as a stream sound in another keyframe, you get an error when you test the movie that says "SWF contains multiple copies of a sound item." Is this a problem? Because the only way I can think of for that error not to occur and still have the sound as a stream and an event sound is to import the sound to the library twice, and use one to stream and one to use as an event sound. But this wastes space.
2: My next question is also about sound, not as important a question, but I'm still wondering about it. I have three different pieces of music in a Flash currently, and in two of their properties' the compression is set to MP3 and 'Use imported sound's settings," (or something like that,) but for the third sound I can't choose that "Imported sound's settings" checkbox. It's just not there. Does anyone know why?
3: My last question is this: When I don't know the quality of a sound that I have in a Flash, (like in my last question where I can't set the sound's quality to what it was when imported,) but I still want it to be full quality in the swf, I set the sound publishing settings to 160kbps and Best Quality so the sounds are definitely exported at the same, or greater quality than what they were when I imported them. If this is in fact higher quality than what their actual quality is, will it somehow boost up their filesize?
Thanks in advance. :)
