View Full Version : Sound Coming from Wrong Speakers

For some reason my 7.1 speakers seem to play sound from the opposite direction that they are supposed to. For example, the front right speaker won't respond and the sound that is supposed to come out of it comes from the front left.
They are definitely connected properly, as I have reconnected them all on various occasions for it to work for a while then switch back to having problems.
It started around the time that the cables of the satellite speakers were lengthened, but I don't know if it's linked to that.

Or even just move the speakers?

Then the problem is just the opposite. Sound from right none from left. :D
Or even just move the speakers? There's no sound coming out of one so it's unbalanced.
I think it might be part of the various issues this PC has. I should bother Mesh a bit more. :)

Is the left/right balance set correctly in your sound options?

I have this same problem with my tv, only one speaker works. I just put it down to being a crappy tv.

I think so, but for some reason I installed parts of it in French, but that's another problem. :D
And if it makes any difference it's a Sounblaster X-Fi soundcard.
EDIT: It's fixed. It turned it that it was just a loose connection at the back. Sorry about that and thanks anyway. :)
