View Full Version : Explorer runtime error

I'm having a problem with explorer.exe, whenever I click something to do with explorer (my music, control panel) I just get this error message:

Does anyone know any way to solve this problem, bear in mind I can't open control panel but I can open the task manager.

I'm running XP service pack 2.

2 people logged on at the moment, don't know if this makes any difference.

EDIT: IE won't work either

No, McAfee = most common cause of this error ;)

Yeah, what i meant is does he have viruses or spyware, of course.

Yes, unfortunately as the case may be I've got McAfee.

EDIT: HOLD ON!
For some reason after the umpteenth reboot, it now decides that explorer can work properly and won't be a shit anymore.

My god my computer is random.

It will only happen to you if you have more than one user logged on. If it happens again, make sure your the only one logged on.
