As people who haven't got the game in the Wii thread have suggested it, I am making a thread specifically for TP and specifically, spoilers in it.
wtf is with Ooccoo? I mean..its just..weird.
Its kid is even worse!
Weird, but potentially handy.
Actually, I haven't foind a single use for it yet...Though I am only up to the third temple.

Perhaps it would be a good idea to still use spoiler tags for certain things though. Incase people accidentally read something they didn't want to.
Edit: Yes, I take Zelda very seriously :D
Temple 3 stuffs...nothing after temple 3 as I'm stuck in there.
Is it me or is the damn water temple like a maze? That huge staircase that turns is confusing the hell outta me :(.
Oh that cutscene that happens after you restore the light to the spirt in the lake is bad ass. If slighty confusing.

I'm stuck, too. I have been for a long time. Mostly because I got frustrated and stopped playing for a few weeks. I have no clue what to do. I managed to get the water flow into all the right places but there's that chest on the pedestal in that one room that I can't figure out how to fall on. I can't figure out how to get in from the room above. Although it's bright on the map so I must've been there already. ARGH ZELDA SOMETIMES YOU SUCK.
Too heavy on the spoiler tags? Also heavy on the spoilers. Also DON'T TELL ME HOW TO DO IT I'm just venting.
Also, what's with Ooccoo's blue and highly visible nipples?

I found the Water Temple pretty easy, if long, after you work out how the staircase etc. works, and the water flow and stuff.

Just got the game today (for GC) and I'm pretty far into the first temple and it is mind-blowingly good! But now I must finish some coursework before I start playing again...must...resist:mad: On a more serious note I think that my favorite thing up to now is the vastly improved sword-play and the little whistle grass things. Oh can anyone tell me if I'm getting Epona/ <insert funny horse name> back anytime soon? As I said I'm starting the forest temple so if someone could tell me a rough non-spoiler time expectancy that would be just fab.

I believe it's between the first and second temple. If not, right after the second temple. Sorry I can't be more precise...
I've just got into the sixth dungeon, which is in the sky with loads of wind and Oocoos. It's confusing as hell.

Been finding the game pretty easy, which is actually a shame.
I have already completed 7 temples/area's and im only up to 24 hours. But it is the first game in a very long time that has held my attention for more than an hour or so.

Bought it today. Wow.
Been playing for 3 and a half hours, and am only at the part where you collect Tears of Light to restore that forest spirit's light. Granted I like to explore, but still. I can see this game taking me a while to finish.
Really loving it though. The story and cutscenes are far better than any of the previous Zeldas. Best graphics I've ever seen in a gamecube game too.

That's what I thought about the graphics and the water effects are lush. Currently I'm looking for the little light jobbys in Kakariko (and 'tis a bit tedious). I think I won't be able to stop until I've completed this thing!

I agree, I actually got stuck on that bit for nearly an hour because the first 2 times I caught a fish the cat didn't react so I assumed it had to be something else so I tried to make it walk into the cat flap for ages by standing in front of it with the fishing rod equiped. Sometimes I get stuck on really obvious things.

I had the exact same problem. Me and my mates couldn't work out the problem until we went through the village with fine-tooth comb. Part of me knew that i had to fish, but i put it off as fishing was so...reeehhh...
To be honest i enjoyed the fishing in OoT more.

Think I was somewhat lucky with that cat part. Happened by sheer fluke I'm sure of it.
Theres several boss fights I actually found pretty fun, although it was also pretty easy which was a shame, especially with the final boss (which although was pretty fun, it was pathetically easy :().
May start another save file in a few weeks mind, got nothing left to do on there now so started to see what Red Steel is like.

Completed it last night. I don't see why all the reviews said it was the hardest Zelda game so far... I'd say it's easier than all the 2d ones, and MQ.
So...enjoy it?

Now to finish the cave of ordeals... I think I do pretty well, getting to the 43rd floor with only two fairies and 13 heart pieces.

Warning - Possible Mega Spoiler.
In Kakariko village there is a Goron in the supplies shop. He will ask for a donation to advance his store. After donating 3000 rupees in total (You can make many trips), he will open a shop in Hyrule City. You can then buy the Magic Armor for 700 rupees in the shop at Hyrule City. Meaning you will need the 1000 rupee wallet (collect all bugs & give them to bug lady in Hyrule City)

It costs less if you pay for the bridge and then do the hotspring water quest (speak to the Goron Elder sitting outside Malo's). Complete that quest, and buy hotspring water from the Goron now setup in South Hyrule Square, and take it to the Goron outside the South Gate. When he's broken the barrier, go back to Malo's and the 2000 rupee donation for the shop becomes 200.

Massive problem! Well not that massive but pretty darn big, heres the deal; I'm trying to shift teh bridge from teh desert to Eldin area (with no bridge to castle) get teh magic armor (I've got loads of bugs now:)) But (theres always a but) I don't seem to have the appropriate portal near said broken bridge so I can't get the bridge there. I've spent a good long time running around the area to find the fight with the dark beasts (tis easy with master word) but I really can't find it. Please give me some ideas/tip/solutions- which side of bridge which area, as I really need this for multiple side quests and pure convenience. Cheers if you help me. Oh and I'm hoping to finish Arbiters Grounds tonight if I get my English course work done (bastard great expectation and Dickens!)

I'm meant to be doing a Great Expectations essay right now...
Anyway, which side is it that you're struggling to find the portal? if it's at the broken bridge side... well, you should have had one before it broke. So it's the other side... I didn't activate that portal until well after the Arbiter Grounds, so maybe you have to complete that first.
Also, I'm very angry- I've got the magic armour, and to charge it up for a Cave of Ordeals run, I went... well, to the cave of ordeals. 45 floors down, with 500 rupees and one fairy still left, I thought I may as well use it then. Died on floor 49 D:

There are two broken bridges in that area: The one linking Hyrule Field to Hyrule Castle town West must be payed for. The one linking Hyrule Field to the northen path thing is teleported.
EDIT: I now have all four bottles, and am currently getting ready to go on my most well equipped Cave of Ordeals run yet: Four fairy-filled bottles, Magic armour charged up with 1000 rupees, full ammo and health.
I need a bit of practice learning when to use magic armour... at the moment, I'm waiting till I have just a few hearts left, and no fairies, then using it, but that tends to be in the very last floors when the enemies take about 5 minutes to beat per floor, meaning it's all gone pretty soon.

The last boss is pretty disappointing although they put that sword clash thing in from the old gamecube tech demo!*swoon* I love little bits like that. Way too easy though. The swordfighting needed to be more hectic
Magic armour needs to just look awesome and reduce damage. They could make it harder to get. I'de rather that and be able to walk around and look awesome in it without it turning grey and shit and being like you're wearing iron boots.

Need some help, these spoilers refer to the last dungeon, although there is nothing there that can really ruin the game for you:
So I'm inside the castle and am in the chandelier room, at this point I can only go into one door. So I go in the room and defeat the knight in armour and then a chest appears. Now to get to the chest I need to climb up platforms which are raised by lighting the candles around the room, the thing is there are only 2 candles to light and I can't reacht the chest unless I light them all. Anyone know what to do?
I completed it on Thursday night.

Maybe because the first five hours are MEHYa, but the last 35 hours (40 hours is how long it took me to pretty much complete everything in the game) are great.
I'd say the first 1/8 of a Zelda game is always rubbish. The 3D ones, anyway.
OOT: Pretty much everything up to the second dungeon was rubbish, imo.
MM: Getting Human again was annoyingly slow and boring.
WW: Everything up to the first dungeon- there's only one bit of fighting before then!
TP: It only really picks up at the second dungeon. Too much story 'til then.

I would have to agree... except for the too much story stuff. The story is what makes Zelda games all the more awesome.
I've just gotten to the fourth temple and i would say it really picks up after the third temple when you get the ability to warp around the map and turn into a wolf whenever.
Has anyone else found that you literally don't notice the passage of time when playing? Seriously, i got home at 8 today and played for 4 1/2 straight hours before my sister came in and told me what time it was. I thought I had only been playing for an hour or two at most... Scary stuff...

Iv'e found most Zelda bosses easy, except the odd few, like the one with the hands on OOT can't remember his name and the three headed rock thingy in LTTP ( i was young then so he may not be much of a challenge now).

I completed the game today and to be honest I wasn't terribly impressed. It just seemed rather unspectular, Ganondorf got stabbed and everything was fine, no sacrifices, no real shocks, no flood, it just sort of fizzled out. Also I was disappointed that Ganon only had the basic pig form and didn't morph and compared to the WW sword fight the TP one was a bit average. Still it was a good game, but I wouldn't say it was the best Zelda.

I'm up to the bit when you have to dash around Hyrule breathing life into statues to get letters to get to the sky, which I'm looking forward to. Frankly this game is what OoT wanted to be when it grew up. Story is muchly more developed. There are loads of throwbacks to OoT as well, like the boss names Morpheel and Armagohma.
The swordfighting is epic as well. Mortal Draw ftw.
Right, I'm off to the Gerudo desert to see a man about an owl statue.

The boss fizzles out or the game itself?
Well to be honest the end of the game doesn't keep with the epic feel that the rest of the game, you beat the moblin leader and he goes off so it's just Ganondorf left and his power, there are no signs of things going bad in the rest of the world, no zombie filled towns. This didn't matter too much but it didn't really create the same atmosphere as the other Zeldas. The game itself sort of fizzles out at the end, I mean they had some of a sacrifice with the implied death of midna but then she comes back fine. I mean compared to OOT with crumbling castle and more evil looking ganon beast it just didn't seem like much. To be honest I still don't think this is the adult Zelda everyone was expecting, its getting there though.
When I said fizzled out though I was refering to the fact that all that happens is you stab Ganondorf and he dies, although he doesn't even fall down, and Midna leaves, it just sort of ended without any sort of big bang that you expect.

No. There will be no twists or nothing forcing you to go to several more dungeons. Those blank spaces on your map are just there to make it look bigger.

Lol, thought it was fairly unlikely, but Majora's mask did only have about four dungeons if I remember correctly.
When heading up to the Goron villiage type place, you reach a bit where there are loads of moblin fire archers who shoot at you out of little wee crannies. Once you rescue the patriach, the moblins dissapear, and it becomes apparent that the place is full of hawk summoning grasses, and that there is a baby goron up on a ledge. How does one speak to the goron and what are the grasses for??
EDIT: I'd be willing to bet all of my moneys that the fused shadows turn out to be a hat for Midna, but not just any old hat, nono, it's gonna be a hat so fashionable that it allows him to TAKE OVER THE WORRRRRLD, and allows him (really, really irritatingly) to sit on you with his bare arse for all eternity!

Have just completed it in a smidge under 41 hours.
Overall the game was AWESOME. However, me gots a few quibbles with it.
The game seemed to be a lot more plot driven than previous zelda games with link being pushed immediatly on to the next temple after just completing one... I miss the countless side quests that are in it for no reason except for a bit of fun. Where was the bit where I have to collect Cuccoos for a pretty girl who's allergic to them or the little quests that involve 17 different actions over a period of three days whilst copiously abusing your ability to time travel?! Nowhere to be seen... I'm not that bothered as obviously the game is mainly about the story and how awesome link is but it would have been nice to have a little more substance outside of that.
Also it was dreadfully easy... I should have to use at least one pink fairy when fighting Ganon in all his multitude of different stages but I found that all i needed was a bit of red chu jelly to restore half my health... and I didn't really NEED that as he didn't land another hit on me after I'd used it... oh well.
One last thing is that I would have loved to have at least a little bit of reward for finishing the game even if it were like WW where I got the ability to start a new game WEARING MY PYJAMAS ZOMG! However, I got utterly nothing except the fact that I somehow travelled back in time to the beginning of the last dungeon like link always seems to do...
But all in all it kept me blissfully entertained for 41 hours and what little problems it has are greatly overshadowed by the sheer AWESOMENESS that is the Legend of Zelda.
I'm about 10/11 hours into it now. Been working too much to play it extensively, but I decided to dedicate tonight to it.
Oh man, what a game. Its beautiful.
Just got the water armour and am about to head into the Zora Water Temple bit. Wish me luck!

This makes me sad because I've been playing for like 10 hours altogether now and I'm only at Death Mountain. :( I suck at Zelda, but I keep trying because I love the game so much. It takes me so long to get anywhere because I get scared, start freaking out, and cut the grass instead of doing things that get me places. I know I won't get past the water temple, because I never get past the water temple on any of them. So yeah. I suck at Zelda. But I've been playing and failing at it since I was really young, so it's sort of tradition to see how far I can get before it gets too scary.
Anyway, yeah. I'm stuck at the foot of death mountain, because I can't find the last spirit thingy before I go up. And every time I go looking for it, I get crushed by falling rocks. Help? I don't know if I can take the stress of looking for it anymore! :)
Oh, and adjusting to the Wii is making it so much harder (even if it is cooler)! I still have to think about which button is which. I miss my good ol' N64.

Yes, I did.
I am not going to give you that help, firstly because I think that the $100 you pay for Zelda is for the satisfaction of solving the puzzles, and secondly because you can't demand help; you can't bite the hand that feeds you (or could very easily let you starve). Someone else might help you, but if you need help I suggest you don't ask us, you ask a FAQ.
Please, take it from me, I learnt the hard way: head for beginners right now, and when you come back, use correct spelling and punctuation. No, I'm not putting shit on you; I'm trying to help you. I spent almost a year as a minus for a couple of stupid mistakes early on and it meant that almost no-one listened to me, and it sucked. Go to beginners and leech some rep.
</thread derailment>Anyway, I thought I'd try to finish it tonight but I just got sick of Zant's dungeon. And the game had me so well! It better have an incredible ending, it's almost lost my attention. Almost.
Magic armor is pretty cool but If you need the cash for other stuff, don't get it... It's a big money waster... Your money continously counts down and you lose like 40-50 rupees when you get hit.

But i dont understand how the lack of a small key that your supposed to obtain after blowing up a stalfos is a puzzle its more of a glitch that makes me have to start the whole game over again

Can anyone help me out?
I'm on the last level (Hyrule Castle). I've gone down the left side (outside) and got the small key. I've gone down the right side and got the map. I've entered the main part, and used the clawshot to get up and fight the armoured guy in that room, but now I'm stuck where to go next.
I can get up where the chest appears after you beat that guy (although there was a small part of the platform I couldn't raise, so I kinda cheated and stepped backwards onto the biggest part as it was being raised, to get up and get that chest).
Now I don't know what to do. Is there anything worth getting in the cemetary outside? The map shows a few chests there, but I suspect they're rupies and a heart piece maybe?
Edit: I'm playing the Gamecube version, so mirrored and whatnot.

Have you got to where the chest is? If so, it should be pretty obvious. Down one corridor is a locked door that I can't figure out how to open. Down the other is a locked door that you open by lighting the four candles in the room in the right order, or something like that. Go through the door, there's a cutscene which lets you get a key, and there's a locked door near there which lets you into the tower.
I think...

Yeah, I think I tried that torch lighting bit but thought it must be something I had to come back to later, since I'm pretty sure I tried all possible combinations (I noticed also that some stay lit longer than others).
Does it show you anywhere which order to light them in, or do you just do the longest lasting first so that all 4 stay lit by the end? I tried that repeatedly to no avail.

I'm sure previous zeldas let you save. Now the game still feels incomplete (kids not back in village, peace still not restored in hyrule etc). The last level is as if I haven't done any of it (well, no more since I last saved yesterday).

Yes it's the last dungeon, from once you get in the castle, that really lets TP down. They could have done a lot more and been a bit more inventive but they stuck with the old ganon/ganondorf boss and didn't put enough effort into the last cut-scene. It's a pity since the rest of the game is amazing.

Zelda is not the twilight princess. The regular world and the twilight world are two separate things. I could be recalling this wrong, but I think Zelda surrendered to Zant because it was either let him kill all of her people, or surrender and let them "live" as spirits when the twilight takes over.
The people don't know they are in twilight, because they can't actually be in the twilight world. They're kinda in limbo. Link can visit it, cause he was chosen by the gods to be able to do so.
