I believe that all the Wiis sold have to be recalled due to a fault with the remotes...

Nope, that is totally wrong.

Yeah TOTALLY WRONG!

...It's because of the wrist strap.

Also wanted one for red steel but I've heard it doesn't quite live up to expectations.

And actually, the zelda gamecube version is out soon, no?

No, it's not because of the wrist strap. That would imply there is a recall, when all they are doing is offering replacements for the old style straps (thinner)... which do work, if you use them properly.

it is because of the wrist strap, nintendo didnt realise the 'excitement' on the poeple playing wii and the srist straps are breaking because of the controllers being swang around more than normal. lol.

thats the only fault with the controller, everything else on the wii is totally amazing. xD

And red steel is awesome. totally worth getting

Check out http://www.wiihaveaproblem.com/ for a site which tries to make the Wii look shit. All that's happened is that from now on, Nintendo are making Wii controllers that come with the console have a thicker strap. This doesn't affect separate controllers.

I think that site's more going for "how the hell can people be so stupid" than "the Wii sucks"

I think what your thinking of is indeed the wrist strap recall, which is an opional service to get a stronger strap. I havent had any problems whats so ever with it so..people are obviously just idots who get carried away.

Also, all you can do is ask in stores twice a day...there are more shipments coming in every so often, but they seem to be scattered.

General sale of the Wii commences in January. You can only pre-order Wiis for now. I asked in Game and Gamstation yesterday for my brother whilst purchasing an Xbox 360, and both stores said the end of January will be general sale of Wiis

So unless you pre-order one now, the liklihood is you won't get one before Christmas, at the earliest

Amazon had more stock yesterday in time for pre-Xmas delivery, and Tesco Extras recieved more stock two days ago.

So stock is still coming in for buy-now-ness, just sporadically. Keep your ear to the ground, basically.

Yes it is and it is very good :D I don't think the wii version could be much better.

Update on the "I will stroll into a supermarket and purchase one" front - Tesco's aren't getting any more until after New Year. And are sold out.

*Thinks this topic is Nintendo's attempt at viral marketting*
