Hello yes I'm internet superstar da-geezer; you may know me from such posts as "hurrr" and posts solely containing dogdrive.
Anyway, having got up ridiculously early this morning for a bit of Halo love, I thought my car looked a bit odd. I've been greeted with scenes of snow for the first time this winter. Yay!
Clicky for big:

All bets for the 25th are back on, it seems :) Anyway excitement over, back to bed for me.
Hurrrrr.

It snowed in Manchester in not in December, but in January a little bit, February, March, April and if I remember correctly even in May! My theory is that the seasons are moving, shifting so that eventually Summer will be like Winter and vice versa.
Not to burst your bubble but what you have there is a nice looking frost.

Probably is but then hey; it's white, it looks like snow, and it's pretty :D

It sure is, but watch your step it will probably be slippery out there. We wouldn't want you to slip and fall with hilarious consequences now would we?

I live on the South Coast.
Theres more chance of Mr.T appearing on Strictly Come Dancing than there is of it snowing down here.
Hate you :(

My car windscreen had a slight dusting of frost this morning. That's probably the closest to snowy goodness I'm going to get this Xmas :(

We went into school with no signs of Winter anywhere, but when we came out there was frost all over. I nearly broke my bloody leg on a pile of sawdust because it'd frozen solid.
Face it - the chances of getting snow anywhere around these parts are slim. I've only ever had one White Christmas.

oooh I dunno, I think it may well be snow actually; it's too fluffy and sticky and yay to be frost. Happy days :D
aaaah, simple things...

It'll snow here in Liverpool, but because we're situated on the coast, all the warm air from the sea will melt the snow rapidly and no White Christmas for us :(
Unless there's a lot of snow, only then will I celebrate as the snow will stick and snowmen can be built. Like last year's one, which I have to say was rather fetching for my standards

My theory is that the seasons are moving, shifting so that eventually Summer will be like Winter and vice versa.I share a similar opinion. It probably won't snow where I am until about February or March. It's been over five years since I can remember seeing snow in December.

Well over here in Aus, or white christmas is more like turn-freaking-red-in-the-sunmas.

There were only 7 official white Christmases in the Uk in the 20th century.
That's London for ya! We had plenty up in Manchester in the 80s. :)

Its fooking cold for the next few days and then rises to 5*c on Christmas Day.
No snow - of course - but should be a lovely crisp clear day. :)

All Ive had for the past two days is fog. Solid fog.
Also its wierd everyone talking about manchester and snow as my friend Tegn lived there for the first 13 years of her life and had never seen real snow until last december. At the age of 15. The poor deprived child.

We see no snow in Bournemouth.
Well maybe in Jan/Feb, but not at Christmas. I don't think I have ever known it snow properly in December.
We do have plenty of fog though. So if you like fog, that's another reason to spend the holiday season down here.

We don't get snow in Ireland. We get what I like to call slow falling rain. It comes in flake form but on contact with the ground it turns back to its wet state.
snow is a stranger to alabama. sometimes we get a cold front...that lasts awhile but thats about it.
after a recent front came through i finally relented and bought a jacket. after that the weather went back up to tank-top and shorts caliber. :(

snow is a rarity in victoria, only slighly less so in vancouver. locals in either place can usually look forward to quite literally one day of snow coming down in a typical year (usually late november) and enough cold that the thin layer gets icy and hard and sticks there for another week, and that's it...
this year however, due to strange weather all around (which has included 10 rain/wind storms in just the past month), it snowed twice - once in late november, and again in early december. the former was, by local standards, a rather heavy snowfall of several inches.
a white christmas at this rate is unlikely though, because the temperatures are back up to a few degrees above zero, and we're due for two more windstorms instead.

Is it true that for it to officially be a "White Christmas" in the UK it has to snow at Heathrow?

depends, innit. Go down to your bookies tomorrow and ask what the odds are for a white christmas. they usually give you an option of like cities with proper weather stations in them, so like Newcastle or Manchester or London (and yes, thats heathrow.)
if you're under 18, then hahahahha you can't make pointless bets
