Post-Christmas/Pre-New Years XBL Extravanganza!

Well, forumites, I don't know if this task should really be mine, setting up a forum party that is, but such a gathering is much needed. Now that Christmas is out, I believe a party is in order.

Possible Games:
Halo 2
Gears of War
Ghost Recon
Rainbow Six Vegas

And perhaps others.

I know this should be in online gaming, but here it will receive more attention, move it if need be splush.

Chances are nobody would see this thread in the subforum so it may as well be in here. I'm definitely up for this, I've conveniently just quit my job so I have loads of time for just such antics.

Ghost Recon seems kind of old hat now, but the other three sound good.

Well we better find a day first, so we have friday, saturday and sunday before new year. Which is the best for everyone, I can do any of those days to be honest.

Perhaps we could make this into a general xbox live thread with the current date of the event and the name of the game we will be playing in the first post, that's if the architect doesn't mind.

8 would be good actually, I want to watch Harry Hill's TV burp at half 7, someone else set the server up because I'm not that good at that sort of thing.

Just a warning - If at any time I randomly leave, it's because my internet has buggered itself up which often happens.

If it does, I'll need 5 minutes to make it work again, reconnect and sign into live and rejoin the game.

Not a great turnout but good times. Soy Ninja isn't on the forum but he's my mate so I let him join.

That second last round where me and soy ninja just sprinted through the canal and unleashed chainsaw justice all over you at the top of the stairs was sublime. Shame we totally buggered it up in the next round. :)

What was wrong in the first place?
When I tried to join game lobbies it would look like it was going to work and then say "No game are currently available" even though there were about 15 games open. I started it up a little while ago and I got prompted for and update, so maybe that was what I was looking for.

Xbox live is screwing up for me, it signs me in normally, but when I go on Gears of War it signs me off, won't let me sign in at all and then I have to restart my 360 for live to work again.
