I think you'll find its for any gaming, we're just all square eyes who love our Gamecubes.
Don't collect Warhammer myself though.

It's so one sided when you've got Space Marines against practically anything.

And even more one sided when the GW staff insist the invincible piece of blu-tack that costs 10 points and kills anything in one hit is a real Tau soldier.

Used to play Blood Angels, by the way. Still got 'em all. I think it came to about 3000 points, but that was some years ago and I think it's changed now.

Used to play and had good success with my 1000pts guard infantry company or my 1500pts guard which was the infantry plus 2 basilisks and a leman russ vanquisher (or demolisher, can't recall right now).

Sharpshooters skill and massed lasgun fire nailed most marine armies.

I bought a set once, I was far too lazy to paint it though. So I never got interested in it.

I used to collect them. Had myself som chaos space marines, painted gold with white left arms. And a dreadnaught to go with them, I specially ordered a twin las cannon for its arm. :)

I remember playing a game at my local GW once and part way through the game the players were 'ambushed' by mythical creatures, I anialated a bloodthirster with my drednaught and got given a badge from one of the staff. :p

Then I started collecting regular Space Marines, opting for a red and black colour scheme this time. After buying and painting some regular troops, A new drednaught and some Elder Wraithguards (who had defected), and partially painting some bike riders and a tank, I lost interest and they went up in the attic.

This was probably 6-7 years ago. now I have the sudden urge to paint the ones I didn't complete, seeing though i'm older and have a better attention to detail. I would never buy any more though, they're just too expensive.

Collected for a few years before constant price increases got too much. Had Space Orks who got thrashed every damn week by my mates Blood Angels. Space Marines were, or any Marines, are far too badly ballanced in 3rd and 4th ed (land speeders don't count as open topped - duh?). Preferred Fantasy Battle really, at least until the new ed killed my Vampire Counts lovely necromantic magic. I tried getting back into 40k recently with a mate collecting Tau, but it's still far too pricey. Nice detailed backstory though.

Pah! Warhammer Fantasy Battle is the way forward. Proper psychology rules, proper arcs of fire and generally a far better set of rules. While 40k does have a wonderful backstory and some pretty, pretty miniatures they nerfed the rules in 3rd edition to the point of idiocy.

Used to have 1500points of Tau but got sick of playing 10 year olds who had really whiny voices and didnt know the damn rules. I had way more fun collecting, assembling and painting my army than I ever did playing, so eventually I just quit the hobby. Also had about 1k Space Marines, but got bored with them because almost everyone at my GW store played them.

Just started the hobby again recently, and have begun collecting an Empire army. Got a really cool colour scheme sorted out too. Fantasy owns 40K anyway, at least in my area because the players *tend* to be more mature.

I been collecting since before the Tau became "cool". I dont play though, to be honest I can't stick the people in my local stockist who play it. It's like the Inquisition with them.

Imperial Guard are cool too.

i havnt seen warhammer in years, but everytime i walk past the shop in portsmouth, its so bloody tempting.. but i feel like super-nerd! and if i admit it to them, id feel like an EVEN BIGGER nerd!

Used to collect Imperial Gaurd. Used to lose alot. It would have all been different had I been able to afford Forge Worlds Bane Blade! I was much better at Fantasy with my Dwarves and completely owned at Blood Bowl with my Skaven. Still got all my stuff in the loft and still read Dan Abnetts Gaunts Ghosts books.
