After several weeks of deliberation IGN has released their "Best Overall of 2006", they also have console specific best-ofs.

"Rainbow Six: Vegas" got "Best FPS Overall" and "Best Online Game Overall", which just goes and reinforces my theories.

Thoughts?

Okami looks great, its a pity my PS2 doesn't work anymore so I won't be able to play it. I really hope they re-release it on the Wii, it would make a lot of sense keeping in mind the whole paint brush theme and the a lot more people would probably play it, considering by Feb all any Sony fans will be thinking out is the PS3.

Also..Wii Sports won two awards! Not bad for a free "tech demo" huh?

Nice to see two Xbox 360 games as Winner and Runner-up as the Best Games of 2006 :D

Surprisingly, I've never hear of Okami either... yet t got best Overall Game of the Year o.O

From what I've seen of it, it's fantastic.

Nobody bought Okami in America or Japan and the studio have been closed and reincorporated into Capcom now. Shame, it does look gorgeous. Glad to see Black getting 2 awards, I think it was quite an underrated game and technically amazing.

I didn't know that site had so much non-games stuff. They have an award in their music section for "Best Non-Hyphy Rap Album Released By a Bay Area MC" :o

Elite Beat Agents got DS GOTY, which makes me and my pants incredibly happy! It's just a shame they STILL won't release it outside the US so you still have to go to the trouble of importing..

I'm a little dissapointed that they didn't have more in the "Cars" section, and I'm surprised that "Burnout" got "Best Racing/Driving Game". I had the impression that it wasn't about racing so much as crashing.

Wow, people really hate Tony Hawk's.Its suprisingly good when you compare it to other DS film titles...

Still rather rubish mind.
