Well it wasn't really stupid, they used money people donated to them for the purpose, if they had bought the consoles with their own money then smashed them then it would have been dumb. Although its still not very entertaining and a waste of something someone would enjoy.

I found it fairly amusing, if only for the whole "what the fuck?" faces on the people in the crowd.

I sorta enjoy it in a sense that - as mentioned above - if people are going to queue for hours on end to spend a few hundred dollars on a bit of overhyped kit at full whack, then it's pretty good to see them cringe at the thought of what is ultimatley a little black box with a few transistors and PCB's in it getting smashed to holy heaven.

I lol'd at each Smash my ipod/xbox/ps3/cow vid :)

I was going to make a spin off called BurnMyPS3.com, get all the donations, buy a PS3 and keep it.

I just about finished the site layout before I decided not to, because it'd be a twatty thing to do and I'd probably get sued or something.

Would love to see the reactions of the people who donated though.

It's a dumb thing to do, random vandalism and violence has never yielded anything good.

It's also a crime to do it to the iPod and all of those consoles...

In fairness, it was legally their console, and no-one had a right to stop them from doing what they wanted with it. Perhaps they could have been stitched up for littering, but not a lot else.

There wasn't really enough of an immediate OMG!!!! reaction to make it really funny - someone in the crowd dropping to their knees and sobbing uncontrollably would have made it worthwhile, though. Or perhaps a comment from the guy who lost out on a console because of it. :)

The reactions in all of them are really lame... it's like they were expecting some kind of uproar of angry fans, but the best they get is some guy calling them a douchebag... Wow! That was definitely worth $500!

I think it would be much better if they sprayed something like "The owner of this PS3 sucks cock" on it with permanent ink and given it to a random person in the line.

No wait, they could get a bunch of the people waiting in line and see what they'd do to get their hands on it. Like bumfight with a PS3 instead of money.
