ERm... I have some really annoying spyware on my computer, that resets my homepage to (DO NOT CLICK) http://brutal-video.net and puts two shortcuts to random sites on my desktop, every time I turn on my computer. I have Ad-aware and Spybot S&D but they don't pick it up...
Help!

you've probably installed something with spyware included.
try updating adaware and spybot and rescanning and also looking at what you have downloaded recently

1: Go into the registry (Start>Run>Regedit) and go into HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Microsoft/Windows/Current Version/Run and delete anything that looks suspicious. If you aren't sure do a google search on the name.
2: Look in Start>Startup and check there's nothing running there.
3: In adaware I think there is a browser hijacker destroyer that always sets your homepage to what you specify...Also check for updates to the program
4: Press CTRL+ALT+DELETE ONCE and check for any running processes that look suspicious and close them.
5: Get a program called Hack-It! Which is a program hacker and check for any hidden processes. Also check the directory path to them in properties so that you can delete the directory.

Might be worth searching this site, which does have some standalone programs for removing specific spyware.

If you are running Windows XP, click Start, then Run, then type "msconfig" and press enter.
It gives you a list of what is starting with Windows. Run a Google search on each filename, and see what it turns up.
P.S: If the filename is random, something like 2cnsd92.exe, its probably not there for a good reason.
