Quick queston about steam

Wasn't sure if i should post this in techy bollocks, or here, but whatever.

If i was to buy Half-life 2, would i need internet access to validate the game? I have heard tales about how internet access is needed to play the game(Lo in to steam, but i am not sure. And if internet access is required, does steam have proxy server support? (AOL :mad:)

Yes, you have to have an internet connection to validate/update it. Afterwards you can use Steam in Offline Mode.

Yes, steam supports AOL.
